A friend is taking me to the GC and Disneyland for 4 nites in early November to celebrate my birthday - yes, he is a very good friend!

I have only been to Disneyland park a couple of times - and then only as a Day Guest and never to the Grand Californian.

At WDW, I could fill your week with things to not miss. Here at Disneyland, I am at a loss.

Would anyone like to share their favorites?

I have heard there are backstage tours there - similar to WDW (and I LOVE the backstage tours at WDW).

We are flying out a week after spending 4 nites at Old Key West for Food and Wine. In early December I take my friend to WDW for the first time - she is a cancer survivor with the help of "Wishes" and we will celebrate her triumph.

With Frances bearing down on Central Florida I would just like to take a moment and send a prayer to everyone in Florida.

Thank you everyone!

Cathy

There is actually no "backstage" tour at DL currently, although you can't go wrong with the Walk in Walt's Footsteps Tour.

There is also a new ghost tour that will start in early October. I'm not sure if it is just a Halloween season thing or if it will continue into November, but it sounds like a fun experience.

I'm not sure when exactly you are going in November, but I heard that they will show "Believe. . . In Holiday Magic" (Xmas fireworks, great show) again starting the 15th. If not, then "Imagine" will probably be showing (temporary show until the 50th anniversary fireworks next year.... long story ;) ).

I was disappointed with the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour, but mainly because our guide was EXTREMELY boring. The other thing is that I have read many books on Disneyland and Walt, and I didn't really learn anything I didn't already know.

The Ghost tour mentioned above sounds interesting. I would also recommend the tour of GC. When I was there, it was held every afternoon. It takes about an hour, and it's free. Really made me appreciate the GC (they even pointed out a couple of hidden Mickeys).
