Are there any trip reports available from someone that has stayed in this room??

I don't have a trip report, but we've stayed in a GC 1 bdrm suite a couple of times, the last time and the upcoming trip (leaving today) we are/were in a GC 2 bdrm suite which is basically the same with another bedroom and bathroom thrown in. There is a sepearate living room and bedroom with the Disney split bathroom. We found it quite roomy and comfortable.

Hope this helps - gotta run!

We have on a few occassions, one was a corner unit, the other was regular. It is nice having the extra sitting room and bathroom areas. Both had 2balconies, one set overlooked DCA/pool, the other set the great lawn/wedding garden. We were upgraded so we didn't pay rack price on the rooms, however, we were given concierge with each which is a nice perk. I'm not sure if that is standard though.

Did you ask for an upgrade or did they just offer it to you?

The first upgrade was due to it being our wedding night (we were married at the resort), and they had availability. So it was a nice surprise. The second one was actually a comp stay due to prior bad visit to the resort. We were anticipating a regular room but were bumped up. So were were pretty happy about the changes. In the past we have only asked about certain views or if concierge (paying for it) was available, never for a particular room size.

Im sitting here now in the room looking into the grizley river. The room is awsome and big!!! If you can afford it do it! GC is only 60% full

I agree that the suites are great at the Grand Californian :cool1: We had a 2 bedroom in June - that's the regular 1 bedroom suite and a connecting regular room. I don't like to sit on the beds when we are in the room - it was nice to put my granddaughters (ages 3 & 9) to bed and turn out the lights - the adults could sit in the living room and watch TV on the flat screen or work on the computer on the table or sit out on the balcony and still hear little girls if they needed us. :cutie: We had the suite on the corner right above World of Disney, next to the bakery so we looked into the Magic Kingdom - looked down the street into Downtown Disney - and around the corner off the master bedroom was California Adventure  The extra room made our vacation really special as we are used to our 2 bedroom timeshare which always has extra space  Try it - you'll love it:dance3:
