Hey guys! I'll be traveling to Orlando with my husband and 2 kids and we're looking for a place to stay. We've heard some nice things aboiut the Gaylord but really want the opinions of people who have stayed there. We've also heard some things about ICE, which from what I understand is an event they do at the Gaylord with huge ice sculptures. If anyone has information on these two things please let me know! We need to book ASAP!! :flower:

We stayed at the Gaylord 2 years ago on a Friday and Saturday night. We payed $75 a night through Priceline and loved the resort.

We have never stayed there but go to a restaurant, Villa de Flora in the hotel at least once a month. Since we live in Orlando my DH just can't justify styaing at Gaylord but if I had to pick a hotel, that would be the one! It is beautiful, and there is so much to do within the hotel itself. We love to watch the alligators get fed, it is a blast! We will be going to ICE this year after hearing so many rave reviews. I think you will love the hotel if you stay there.

We've been to ICE two years running. FYI - IT"S COLD!!!! They provide long parkas for you - and I'd recommend closed-toed shoes. It's really amazing what they can make out of ice. There are ice slides for the kids - and the parents they convince to join them!! ;)

this will be our first trip to ICE this year as well. the gaylord pretty much beats anything else in O-town hotelwise, the Portofino at UO is a close second. the gaylord is massive, and impressed us very much.

They are 10, 8 and 7. We have stayed at all sorts of hotels/timeshares in Orlando, and this place is their favorite. The pool w/ Ocotopus slide is wonderful (and warm!) The atrium is a great time as well - gators and all. We went to ICE last year - and yes it is cold (bring gloves for all, long pants and closed toe shoes - hats if the kiddos are really little - I believe it is 9 degrees inside!), but so neat! The Gaylord's Holiday decorations are gorgeous!

Have a great time!

Gaylord Palms is divine....we stayed there this summer and loved it sooo much. I have always said if I had to stay off property I did not want to go, well there is now a major exception to the rule. It is done...so very well. I hear at Christmas it is to die for.

Every room has its own computer with internet..so nice. Great restaurants and make sure you get a room with the veiw...we kept our doors open all night to hear the water falls..(the balcony doors that is)
