We are FL residents and looking at staying a night or two there for a quick getaway/birthday trip. It looks lovely. Any one stayed there? Are the Atrium rooms worth the upgrade? Did you enjoy the waterpark area?

Thanks!

I haven't stayed at the one in Orlando but did stay in Nashville. That location - the upgrade would totally have been worth it. We're planning on staying at Gaylord Palms in June so I'd be happy for any feedback on this location as well.

It's a nice hotel, but be sure to include parking and resort fees when figuring out its total cost.

I personally do not feel the atrium rooms are an upgrade, except for the fact that they have a balcony. I don't think looking out onto an interior glorified mall is that big a deal. But, it is nice to have a balcony, even if it's inside, I guess. If you were going during the holidays, maybe if you had a view of their "Ice" show, that might also make a difference. It depends how much extra they're charging.

The pool was great.

I asked a friend who stayed there at Thanksgiving and she said the same thing about having an atrium room and being there at Christmas. She also said it was louder than she thought it would be simply from the noise of the guests and the glass ceilings.

We did not spring for the atrium, took the Florida View room. We are only staying one night for a birthday trip for one of our kids. I'll report back and let you know what we thought of it. We used to live minutes from the one in Maryland, but never went.

BTW, the parking is $24 and the resort fee is $30, so add that in when you look at prices.

I know this is an old thread but wanted to see if you did have feedback on your stay. We are staying in a Florida view room and debating on skipping renting a car and just doing the shuttles/Uber to the parks. Any thoughts are appreciated.

We stayed 2 nights in December and used Uber to and from parks (about 15$ at most). We did not use the shuttles... there were a few everday. With the resort parking fees it was not worth it for us to rent a car.

Hi, I really liked the Gaylord. That said, I cannot believe how expensive this place is! I even had a military discount and was still shocked at the price. (Granted, we had to get two rooms because we have 4 kids and I'm really good at snagging a low rate to do a Disney weekend.) It's the parking and resort fee, which if you skip renting a car and just uber, you can avoid. That said, I saw a Plaid from Disney picking up a family in the lobby of the Gaylord! I didn't realize they came off property to get people, but when you're paying those VIP rates, I guess you can request pretty much anything.

Our Florida view room was the view of a parking area around the side. Not attractive. Pretty sure I got it because these were military rates and only one night.

Pool is fun. My kids enjoyed the water drop one, and there's a great splash pad. Incredibly over priced pool snacks (of course!)...most expensive nachos we've ever bought.

Be warned they are building something on the side next to the pool. I'm not sure what it is, maybe another set of rooms or meeting space, but there's a lot of ground torn up and cranes.

I meant to go for the ICE event, but we didn't make it. The hotel is really cool and I enjoyed it. But we paid basically $400+ for one night. Being local, I can get the ambiance, which is the best part, by just paying parking.

As a side note, the lobby smells like Avatar Flight of Passage.

Thank you for this! From what I priced on the app, it seems cheaper for us to Uber to and from the parks rather than paying the parking fees. Extra bonus if we can use one of the shuttles to the parks.
I’m super excited to check this out- I think that maybe we will stop and grab some of our own snacks on the way to the hotel though because all of the reviews mention how expensive the restaurants are there.
I’m actually booked on points so the price of the room is cheap for us (just the resort fee). Here’s hoping it’s a good use of points!
