Gaylord Palms?

I have just looked at the website and this place looks amazing!

Has anybody visited or stayed here? I think we might 'need' a few more nights on our next trip

We visited last Oct/Nov and ate at Sunset Sam's Fish Camp. It had been a 'must see' for us having seen it in the construction stages during previous trips. The place is absolutely amazing and you must visit. As you probably know, it comprises 3 different areas - St Augustine, Everglades and Key West, although what isn't clear from the website is that they all blend into one another.

Sunset Sam's is a restaurant which encroaches onto the sailboat which sits on the marina <i>inside</i> the hotel! (Some of the tables and the bar are on the boat, the remainder of the restaurant is on terra firma). We had lunch there, which was very good, but the dinner menu is, by all accounts, something else.

When we go in May, one of our top priorities is to eat at the Old Hickory Steakhouse. When we go on our New York/Orlando trip in Dec/Jan for my brother's 40th birthday, we plan to spend our final two nights there. I've recently had an e-mail offering some excellent rates for this April and May, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we'll get some similar offers nearer to our departure date.

LOL Richard I have to say I was surprised that you weren't already staying here Doesn't it look awesome - you have to add extra days onto your trip - I'm hoping for a couple of nights here myself next year.

It's a beautiful resort. If you like ice cream, you have to try some from Ben and Jerry's (located amongst all the shops). It's AWESOME! The pool areas are wonderful. This is a beautifully themed resort.

Thank-You for the photos and information, Deb and Thanks for the excellent link TigH, we love Ben & Jerry's - Phish food is my favourite.

I am sooo tempted to add a few nights on to stay here, but that would mean re-scheduling flights etc. It looks like an amazing place though. I'll have to show DW and pray for the best .Whatever we do though we will definitely atleast visit here on our next trip.

Sunset Sam's sounds nice, can anybody reccomend any other restaurants within the resort?
