Can someone explain to me about the atrium rooms. Are they quiet? I guess my thinking tends to have me beleive that facing out into the atrium would be noisy. Enlighten me please

When we went in May I wanted an atrium room & was so disapointed because we didn't get one. However, someone on these boards posted that they had an atrium room. They did like the "view", but they also commented that they could hear the machines that are used on the floor in the middle of the night. I'd never thought about that. Our room, faced the parking lot, but it was quiet. My brother stayed at the one in TN years ago. He loved his atrium room & didn't have any problems with noise at all.

Hi,
I am the person that posted that we could hear the floor scrubbing machines from our atrium room at night. It wasn't REAL loud (we were high up though) and it didn't take that long but we were surprised how loud they were and I think it was after 11:00 at night. We were also near the piano bar and could hear the music late into the night. We are light sleepers, it may not seem so intrusive to other people. We had forgotten our ear plugs, they are great to use on vacations, especially at naptime!

The hotel and rooms are beautiful.
