Gaylord Palms: Florida view or Atrium?

My husband, 19 and 17 year old sons and I plan to stay at the Gaylord Palms for two nights, Dec. 25 and 26. "ICE" is on our list, too!

My question is: Should we book an Atrium room or a Florida view room? The $129 price is the same for both through the Disboard specials. Is it really very noisy in the Atrium rooms? We probably won't be going to bed until 10-11pm. I think an Atrium view room would be cool, but a good night's sleep is really important, too! We are usually up pretty early...by 6:30am.

Also, as I'm planning to buy tickets to "ICE", is it true that there were half-price specials for tickets last year online?

Thanks for your help!
Elaine:)

1) Take the Florida view.
2) The view of the atrium isn't all that wonderful.

I loved my atrium view! I had a Florida view that was okay though too. BUT It looked to me like most of the atrium views had balconies or sliders that opened on a rail and none of the Florida views did. I might be wrong though. My atrium view was not noisy at all.

I loved the atrium view!! We actually slept at night with the door open to our balcony just to hear the sound of the waterfalls. It reminded me of being at the beach We were next the the top floor. I didn't notice any bothersome noise but really loved the sounds of the water.

We only stayed one night. We had won a Priceline bid, and the desk clerk put us in an atrium room suite! Probably the best hotel room I've ever had. I definitely would take the atrium view. We heard nothing unless the sliders were open.

I'm not sure what our view was called, but we looked out over the Key West section and we loved it. Not noisy at all, even though we overlooked the interior. It was fun to watch the "sunset celebration" from our balcony.

Definately go with the atrium view. We have been on the 4th floor and the 8th floor and couldn't hear any noise with the door closed.
ICE is awesome, don't miss it. There is a discount if you buy online before you go and weekdays are cheaper than weekends. I see you are going to be there on Christmas so I don't know how that will be with discounts. Get there early, the line gets very long about an hour or so after opening.

Definitely atrium view! There's so much to see at the Gaylord Palms and we found ourselves often sitting out on our "balcony" looking out onto everything. As someone else mentioned above, we also slept with our balcony door open so we could hear the waterfall. The hotel is dark and quiet at night anyways so it wouldn't be bothersome by any means and the view outside the hotel ("Florida view") isn't anything spectacular and you'd likely end up with a view of one of the many parking lots.
