Gaylord Palms, fireworks

My husband's heading to the Gaylord Palms hotel in October for a conference, and I was going to tag along with our daughter. But she's very noise-phobic about things like loud thunder and fireworks, and I've heard that the fireworks displays at Disney are quite large and loud. So I was wondering if the Disney fireworks are visible - and audible - from the Gaylord Palms hotel. I realize there are other fireworks displays in the area, SeaWorld, etc., and any help on these would be appreciated as well. Thanks!

Good question...
depending on the wind, you will hear a very few fireworks from Disney...I think you will hear mostly the big bangers at Epcot Illuminations. You will probably not hear the fireworks that have the full effects with colors.

You will be able to set your watch by the EPCOT fireworks as they will start at 9PM every night. We stay 3 months about 2 1/2 miles straight south of Animal Kingdom and Epcot sounds like muffled thunder in the distance...If wind is straight south, it is a little louder.

You may be able to see some fireworks from Gaylord, but only some the really high ones and I doubt if you will hear the ones you can see. The really loud ones are just the ones that blast with no color or effects.

If little one is awake at 9PM you can tell her in advance that she may hear some little booms in the next 10 minutes. Fantasmic at MGM has a big boom or two but nothing like EPCOT...I think the Wishes show at Magic Kingdom has just one or two big boomers...but again EPCOT is what we could hear every night...

Hope this helps...Ted

You will not hear them from there - enjoy!

I agree

gaylord is not a cheap place - so their sound proofing is excellent.

just make sure that no one has the balcony doors open while the fireworks are going.

also if they really upset her - just ask for a non-WDW view. then she won't see anything. I don't think Old Town has fireworks - might be wrong.

Thanks, all!

If distant small booms are the loudest we'll hear, I think we'll be ok. We live about 10 miles from a major 4th of July display, and she's okay with hearing some muffled, distant booms from that. Not happy about it, but it won't terrify her like a closer explosion would.
