Hey everyone,

I am going to be at SSR from Jan 3-14, for the marathon, and was wondering if there was a place (club/restaurant/bar) On Disney property that was a "gay hangout"?? Perhaps where cast members go after work? I know there are a couple gay bars around Disney, but I wont really have the means to go off property. Just looking to meet up with some people as I will be by myself the whole time. Thanks!

Right before your visit check the house of blues site for the days your staying, particularly the 9th. Theres a gay club that happens once a month there, usually a wednesday, and its pretty amazing. Only thing is if you want to drink that night, do it somewhere else before hand, otherwise your paying 10 bucks for like 3 ounces of liquor there. :sad2:

Checked out the site, it only lists artists, concerts and service industry night. Would love to find out more info

I'd like to know this information as well since I'm going down the first week of Feb by myself. My first visit alone to the Mouse House. I would have gone to PI but sadly it's no longer.

Going solo for 5k next month and princess 1/2. First time alone for me, too

Oh I'd like to know about this too... DGF and I are celebrating our two year anniversary while we are there.... That would be a nice thing to do after being in the parks all day with the family .

If any of you become a Disney Imagineer, please make a LGBT bar! The drink around the world event during gay day orlando was a great time. You couldn't even find a place to stand inside any of the bars at EPCOT.

My fav bars in WDW:

1. Mizner's Lounge - quiet, comfy and right off the monorail in the GF.
2. Planet Hollywood - fun, great food and inside DTD.
3. Dawa Bar - outdoor, very casual, good beer and drinks, smoking section and it's in Africa of the animal kingdom.

Hey! I'll be there from Jan 10th -13th @ the Pop Century.
(1/2 Marathon). Maybe we can all meet up?

I agree that Mizners is the best bar. We love everyone there, especially Tammy! And if you can get in, Top of the World at Bay Lake Tower is great as well. Mike will take care of you at the bar.

I thought the bar there was pleasant enough, but not engaging as a solo traveler. After the fireworks were over folks drifted off.

I think I read somewhere that they were going to use that space for a different purpose--but now I can't remember where.

It was announced at the DVC annual meeting that all DVC members, not just those staying at BLT, will continue to have access to Top of the World, with a few minor blackout dates...so I guess opening it to all members for a few months last year increased business enough that they are not going to repurpose it, at least not for a while.

They had one, it was called Mannequins Dance Palace. Unfortunately the fool who closed it is now headed over to ABD to wreck havoc.

I am glad they are leaving Top of the World alone right now. It has been a lot busier since they let all DVC members go there. I kind of liked it better when it was quiet and we chatted a lot with the workers there.

I think it’s an excellent place where you and your partner can feel comfortable, enjoy yourselves and be happy. Disney is an extremely liberal place for gay couples IMO.

Check out the Royal Plaza, Coronado Springs Resorts & Gay Friendly Lodging at WDW.
If you’re planning for LGBT fun at Disney, you are sure to enjoy these places.

For any real estate related help check out http://www.gayrealestate.com for some long term stay solutions.

Wow... Just wow. I guess sharing your opinions/feelings aren't allowed here.:confused3

Not everyone remembers every club that ever existed, so I think it is appropriate to remind others about "what used to be." With such snarky comments, it's no wonder this forum has become a graveyard.

Just go to Face Book there's a group that talks about the down town disney old days. Just talk to the powers that be over why this place is a graveyard maybe they can tell you.
