This year it is Oct 3-5. I think it's busier, plus you have the new halloween crowds.
As for the comfortability, I think it depends on your comfort level. I see gay people at disneyland everytime I go, but of course not in those numbers. If you are uncomfortable around gay people, it's probably not the weekend for you. If you have kids, and you don't want to explain why two guys or two girls are holding hands, perhaps it's not the weekend for you.
When I was planning a trip during Gay Days 2007, someone posted that there would be "a lot of inappropriate PDA". Others said that was not true, and we went anyway.
I want to say LOUD AND CLEAR that there is a lot of hand-holding, that's about it. Lots of red shirts, too.
I think there was some other event going on, too, I can't quite remember, but I thought it was very crowded. Friends of mine who went that same weekend said they didn't think it was that bad. It was only my 2nd trip, so what do I know?
It's not really different from any other day at the Park, except for it'll be pretty crowded. And you'll see lots of people in red shirts! And like any other day in the Park, there will be all kinds of people there! Like other posters have said, it'll only be uncomfortable if you have an aversion to seeing male/male or female/female couples holding hands/enjoying a meal together/showing their kids around the park...you know, all the things that male/female couples do on a trip to Disney
I've been the last several years, and have to say it's been a blast.
I don't know if the crowds will be as much a factor this year, as the last few years it has sort of fallen on Columbus Day weekend. This year it's a regular ol' weekend ... so ... we will just see how busy it really gets ...
(Also I hear the parks have been a little emptier over-all just from the economy being what it is ...)
Anyhow, I've never really seen anything to extreme PDA wise ... no more than I have seen in regular crowds ...
For people that said it was crowded. The GayDay schedule has DL on Saturday, CA on Sunday. We were going to do the reverse, CA Sat, DL Sunday. (of course the MILEY party has complcated things). With doing the parks in reverse, will we still have a problem with the crowds?
Of course, not all of the GayDay guests will follow the schedule, and they are free to go where they wish. And there will be many other guests as well. I was encouraged by people posting that they were bailing on this weekend because of Miley.
