Gay days or Dapper Day - which has a smaller impact on the park

I've been to Dapper Day but not to Gay Days. I am wondering which event has less guests and therefore less of an impact on the number of folks visiting DLR over their respective weekend.

As word has spread both events are very popular at the parks. I don't know if one brings in more or less guests than the other celebration.

I would have originally said Dapper but last time I was there for a Dapper Day event it felt more crowded then Christmas! It wasn't more crowded then Christmas but for Dapper Day some travel in larger groups which make the parks feelore crowded. Dapper Days also have more in park activities planned then Gay days.

The Fall Gay Days event is always the first weekend in October, and has been scheduled on this weekend even before the Halloween Parties existed. Gay Days and Halloween Time make the weekend very busy, although every weekend in October is busy.

The Spring Gay Day and both Dapper Day events are not on a fixed schedule, so they can be shifted away from the busiest weekends -- essentially making a "slower" weekend more busy.

We were at the parks during Gay Days in October 2015. All I really noticed were some people once in awhile wearing red shirts. During the mornings and early afternoon, it didn't feel any busier than the times we've gone in early June to DL. However, late afternoon & evenings at the parks were super duper busy, which I attributed to the Halloween stuff more than Gay Days.

Thank you--I really appreciate the input--helps with my planning for my fall visit.

I've got trips scheduled that are the same time as Mini Gay Days in March as well as Dapper Day in April and have noticed hotels are filling up faster (and rates are higher) for those weekends.

Was Gay days connected to Columbus day last year? I think that would be a major impact.

I have happened to be at both, at DL, not on purpose. I did not think they were a problem, crowd wise. And, both were pretty fun to see, actually. Lots of people having loads of fun. the Dapper folks looked so great, we were at VGC so we saw lots of them getting ready, etc. at the GC. For the Gay Days, we saw the suggested schedule and went to the opposite park, to try and avoid some of the crowds/lines. (but this group goes to both parks of course).

The spring events, in my experience, are not as crowded. Gay Days in Fall has been packed, but it also happens during the Halloween festivities, so that's part of the crowding problem. Fall Dapper Day is between the Halloween and Christmas seasons, so I'm guessing it will not be quite as crowded this year.

Didn't Disneyland reach capacity on a recent (seems like 2015) Fall Dapper Day?

I was thinking the same thing. In 2015, Fall Dapper Day was in mid September so it was also Halloween time. I wonder if Fall 2016 was smaller because it got moved to November and, then hopefully, I can count on it being smaller this year too as it is also in November.
