I will admit that I am more of a Disney person myself, but I am working at Universal Studios until I get my bearings as a newcomer in Orlando and can perhaps make use of my letter of recommendation from my supervisor at the Disney Museum in San Francisco. I, therefore, looked to see how much of a LBGT presence there was during the Gay Days weekend. Not much that I could see at Universal Studios.

How many of you are planning to take the city of Las Vegas up on their offer to host Gay Days 2012?

They're also careful not to put it in October, where it might conflict with the Disneyland Gaydays :)

They are not "hosting" GayDays 2012. GayDays is, and always will be, the first weekend of June in Orlando. Las Vegas is planning it's OWN version of GayDays, as many amusement and theme parks around the country already do. Personally, I can't see it working in Las Vegas - it's too diffuse.

I went to Vegas once and that was enough. Too dark and dirty, even during the day it's very strange. The rides and attractions there are awful compared to WDW imo. Then there is that place in Nevada called the Blue Moon resort or something and it looks interesting. Also many resorts there are gay friendly and a pleasure to stay at. On a more positive note, I did find it was easier to get a date and truly meet some very nice and I mean nice people. And that was at the SOE gaming convention in 2010. Would I go back to Vegas? No. I saw it all and I was not impressed. My poor little heart didn't like the high altitude, the high heat, poor air quality and smoke in the casino's. I ended up in the hospital just a few days of that. Along with a few other people there...

I will do Disney again, I look forward to all the new additions to come and hopefully either BayLake or GrandFloridian Resort. I've had enough of the DoubleTree. As I'm counting the ants that have bitten me tonight.

The Las Vegas event will take place in September, and will NOT replace the Gay Days event that is held in Orlando every June.

Now that's good. I knew that Disney World was going to continue with Gay Days. I just remember seeing something in the Orlando Sentinel about Las Vegas having a Gay Days as well. I was too exhausted at the time to remember the details of the article; but I wondered if Orlando and Las Vegas would actually divide the crowd for Gay Days, which would indeed be a terrible idea.
