Gave DH cold through e-mail all the way to Kuwait

I just got an e-mail from DH in Kuwait, after getting 3 e-mails yesterday, I was waiting on Pins and needles to get today's e-mail. I figured that he was busy today with the "shock & Awe" campaign. He loads weapons on A-10 aircraft, so they were extremely busy.
Seems he got a cold, and is really run down. I had been sick Mon-Thursday this week. Seems like he picked it up today just as I got rid of it.

Here is his e-mail, (keep in mind he can't type) it's so great to hear from him each day. I am so thankful that they let them continue to e-mail. Calling home has been suspended:


hey everybody im am safe its about 2am saturday morning i must of got what you got.i have a sore troat and a stuffed nose it is really dragging me down plus with the lack of sleep and long hours.today we only had two attacks down from the ten we had yesterday.but its hard to sleep because everytime you hear a noise you jump up.hopefullly today i can get some sleep.i was out working for about 6 hours straight then i came in to eat my mre now im resting.hopefully we get into iraq in a couple of days. im glad you called my mom just keep her updated every few days so she doesnt worry to much.did you guys go get your free water ice from ritas.i cant wait to be eating one with you and the kids.i would love to have a bannana or raspberry.i hope you get better real quick.tell taryn not to worry that im safe.i miss you

Melanie, I see where you are going to be staying at the Contemporary in November! Boy, I bet that will be the BEST vacation you guys have ever had! I know you are SO looking forward to that trip, eh?

I have so much admiration for you people on the DIS who have spouses or children or siblings over there - it must take a lot of strength and courage on your part to hold down the fort here on the homefront. Kudos to you!

Sorry to hear your DH has a cold, its bad enough being at work in normal conditions feeling bad and tired but in those situations, I can't even imagine, how miserable you would feel.

Snoopy,
This years trip to Disney this year will be the best ever.
The first time we went to Disney, Dh had just got home from his first trip to Kuwait, (this is his 5th time in Kuwait since 95) and it was nice having that to look forward to.
I can't even say in words how much we are looking forward to this trip. I just pray that he will be home by then. His orders are until 2/26/04, and he could be kept there for up to 2 years. I do think this will not be a super long war, and I really hope that they send him home shortly after. At least not longer than a few months.
