Gatwick to Heathrow Transfer

I have a flight out of Heathrow at 1:30pm on Saturday but I have to return my rental car to Gatwick. What is the best way and quickest way to get from Gatwick to Heathrow.

It's not a great route to be honest. For our trip last August we flew out of Heathrow (to New York JFK) but returned back from MCO into Gatwick. For this reason, DH dropped us off at Heathrow, took the car and parked it over at Gatwick and then returned back to Heathrow again.

He used National Express to get from LHR-LGW. It took about an hour, and he didn't enjoy the trip, but it was nice to have the car waiting for us when we returned.

The only other alternative would be to take a train into London then another train to Gatwick. We looked into this but it was even more fussy and would have taken even longer. The National Express coaches run extremely frequently and obviously aren't very expensive.

Thanks for the info. I was looking at booking online but dont know if I will be in the north or south terminal. I had an enterprise rental car if that helps

I just checked for you and Enterprise have locations at both the North and South terminals. I'm not sure if it would matter which location you returned the car too - perhaps it might be worth checking the paperwork or giving them a call?
