After some deliberation about whether to stay over at LGW the night before, we suddenly realised today that we have no choice!! We are checking in the kids car seats on Twilight Check In and wont be able to drive them home without the seats!! DOH!! Every other time we have either used the car seats from Dollar or not bothered with Twilight, so its never been an issue!

It will seem strange as we live only about 45 mins from Gatwick (but the journey can often take twice that due to traffic) but it will have to be done this year!

OK, so which hotel do I pick? Problem is we are going to need two rooms as there are 5 of us (3 adults 2 kids) so nothing that is going to break the bank! I found the Travel Inn at £54 per room per night....anyone stayed here? Any other recommendations? We wont need parking as are being dropped off and collected by FIL.

Thanks!
Allie

I've stayed at the Travel Inn, Gatwick a couple of times and it's very close to the terminals. You have to pay for the bus to the terminal - can't remember how much, £2 or £3 I think. You could also order a pre-packed breakfast too although I think we got something at the airport so can't comment on this. It was a good choice for us and I would use it again. I've also stayed at the Hilton and Le Meridien at Gatwick, which are very convenient but pricey.

Have stayed at the holiday inn express which was good & the price included breakfast. Can't comment on price as it was accommodation & parking package. Also stayed at the Gatwick Worth (Best Western) on a conference. Basic rooms, but food was excellent & I think the minibus service to/from the hotel was free.

We stayed at Le Meridien a few weeks ago and I must say it's nothing special although it is convenient. Have also used the Holiday Inn and the Travel Inn and I must say for the price the Travel Inn is hard to beat! The rooms are pretty standard but they are clean and the bus service only takes a few minutes to get to the south terminal!
