gatorland

is this place worth the time & money as a side trip. TIA

For us it was, we stayed offsite and already had a car. We have gone twice now and it's a fun part of old Florida tourism. Last year we went and saw a lot of updating. My ds1, and dnephew6 loved it. Our last trip was the morning of our return flight. We even got to feed alligators on a beach for a couple extra dollars. Also the gator wrestling show was fun. It might not fill a whole day, but you could stretch it out. It's a good time, try it you might like it.

Gatorland is a fantastic half-day attraction. Lots of gators (which you can feed), a small aviary, entertaining shows, a cool boardwalk through the swamp, a splash pad for the kids, and a train that takes you all around the park. We paired Gatorland with an airboat ride on our Christmas vacation, and it was one of our favourite days of the entire trip.

I have tons of photos and details about Gatorland in my trip report. Click on the link in my signature. Gatorland starts at page 4, post 60.

It's definitely worth visiting. It's not something we do every year, but every other year is appropriate. It is a good half-day+ experience. Kids around 5-10 will really enjoy the water area (splash pad??). The shows are corny, but entertaining. Plus, this place is a classic piece of road-side Americana.

I've never been but want to! If you go, check out orlandocoupons.com for a $5 off adult admissions coupon. There's also a $2.50 off admission coupon on the Gatorland website.
