Gator Tours - Clearwater Beach w/lunch and boat excursion?

I want to make our family's first trip TOGETHER to Florida really count and one of the things on my "to do" list is dolphins. I have seen them on a whale watching cruise in CA, so I would love for the rest of my family to experience the beauty of these creatures while we are all together. I am on a budget so Discovery Cove is out of the question.

I found this little excursion on the Hotwire website and they will pick you up at any hotel in Orlando/Kissimee, take you for lunch at the Hilton Clearwater Beach, and you have your choice of 3 boating excursion...the one I would pick is a close to 2 hour dolphin watching cruise.

There is also some time to play at the beach..

Purchasing this thru the Hotwire website It will cost my family of 4 $217 including taxes and fees. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me as we had planned a day at the beach anyway and this would kill two birds w/ one stone.

My question is: Have any of you used this touring company? Any reviews?

PS I am very new to this website and my trip begins Sept. 17th of this year. I have already spent countless hours reading here.....if you could see me you would be able to tell by the luggage I'm carrying under my eyes.

Haven't used Gator tours but have vacationed a few times over in that Gulf Coast area. The price sounds great for transportation from Orlando, lunch, AND the boat thing. Usually those boat excursions alone are in the $25-50/pp range.
We've lucked out "dolphin watching" for free a couple of times having lunch at a place called Scully's in John's Pass Village in Madeira Beach (just south of Clearwater) ...they frequent the "pass" between the inland waterway and ocean alongside the Villlage, which is a touristy area of shops, restaurants and water-excursion docks. A boat trip in that area sounds like a nice time for your family and I'm sure you'll see dolphins!!

There are a number greater- Tampa area DISers....just keep bumping this up and I'll bet someone might come on with some input on Gator Tours............

I'm not familiar with this excursion company either, but I think you'd love the Clearwater area, and the price does sound reasonable, with the transportation and lunch included.
