The entrance to Shades of Green is not far from GF. Its actually closer to the Poly. Gators are often seen at the water hazard on the golf course right near the entrance & road. The bus drivers stop & point them out. lol Also, while walking back to Shades of Green, the signs advise to stay on the path due to "wildlife". When they televise the pro-tournaments from the golf courses at Shades Of Green....they always throw in some footage of gators sitting in the water watching the golfers.
That GF gator is just a baby compared to the one at the corner of SoG entrance & main road near Poly.
BTW, we 've had so many wildlife encounters at SoG its pretty funny. We had one of those tall legged birds walk into our room when the slider was open. We had bunnies & raccoons on our patio. We saw deer near the front of the hotel one night after getting of the bus right there. We also saw deer in the fake lighted xmas deer display at the SoG entrance one night. That was funny.
My SIL & her father (originally from FL) walked out onto the green to get a closer look at the BIG gator. They were nuts if you ask me. I have pics somewhere.
