We're leaving for Gatlinburg tomorrow morning and staying in a cabin at Eagle Crest in Pigeon Forge. We've been going to the area for many years but always stay in a timeshare or a hotel, never a cabin. Do they have supplies such as soap, dishwasher detergent, etc.? Has anyone every stayed at Eagle Crest. We're renting from Timber Tops.

We've been going for 10 years now and have rented with several different companies. They vary on supplies. All have had dish soap, dish washer soap, toilet paper, paper towels, pots and pans, bath towels, etc. The quality and amount varies. I usually bring pump soap for the bathrooms and extra trash bags.

The last several times, we have stayed with Century 21/Cove Mountain. You get 1 roll of toilet paper per bathroom regardless of length of stay. We always bring extra. The pot and pan quality is iffy. The last cabin we stayed in didn't have measuring cups. The pans were so cheap that we burned everything, even grilled cheese. If you are a true cook, bring the basics. A good pot, skillet and sheet pan. In contrast, our friend's cabin had a wonderful kitchen supply. (They were also paying about $500. a night for their cabin).

The quality of supplies vary because many of these cabins are privately owned. Last year we had one that didn't even have a working phone. This irritated me tremendously since our cell phones weren't often connecting in the mountains.

Thanks. We're just going to be there 4 nights so I'm not going to do any serious cooking. I think I will take one skillet with me though.

generally most places will supply a start amount (sample size) of dish detergent or dishwasher detergent. We own a place there and the company that manages it puts out a sample of tide and bounce for the washer dyer, a sample size of dish washing detergent and a sample of cascade for the dish washer with each new guest. After that is gone, it's their reponsibility for the rest of their stay to provide that stuff.

I would bring your own skillets if you are used to using a certain thing because most of what we use in those because unfortunately some people steal from those places, is the cheap stuff because it has to be replaced so often. In our owners closet we have our good stuff stored for when we come down because we don't use that stuff either.

That gives me a good idea of what to expect. Where is the cabin you own located?
