Gate-checked stroller question

Help - I know this has been asked before, but I can't find the answer. We leave in 4 days and my 2 yr old is in a cast. So I purchased a Jeep Liberty jogging stroller to bring - normally we rent from Orlando strollers, but wanted one for the airport. I didn't even think about the wheels of the stroller. If we gate check it - what will happen to the air filled wheels? Thanks!

I would call the airline. They may consider the stroller in the same class as a wheelchair because of the casting situation and medical need allowing you to bring it on board. I gate checked a small peg perego 8lb lightweight stroller. Fom Newark to Orlando, everything was fine. From Orlando to Newark, the tray and bar went missing. It was an extremely booked flight because of the hurricane and it was probably buried on top of everything else.

I think OP was concerned about the actual tube tires of the stroller. Based on a cursory search, you do not need to worry about the pressure changes affecting the tires, but there are some airlines that may request the tires be partially deflated.

Yes, that is actually what I was concerned about... Thank You!

Best solution is to get a gate check bag to keep it all together.

It will keep any pieces that do fall off in the bag and keep it clean also.

I gate check my rollator anymore. One year mistake to send it straight through. I lost the basket and a handle adjuster snapped off. It may be a pain at the gate to zip it in the bag, but take a breath and do it so all goes through fine. I would actually write, ortho-stroller on it so it may be unloaded asap for you.

I have gated checked my double stroller with air filled wheels and have had no issues, it was fine!

Gate checked a double jogger a few years ago with air filled wheels and didn't have any problem at all with losing air in the tires! You should be good!
