For those that have traveled with a high back booster (no 5 pt, just a belt positioner) do you check them with your luggage or gate check them like a stroller. I did buy a bag for it, but I was just trying to figure out if it would be less likely to be damaged if I gate check it.

My bag is just a soft sided car seat carrier (Eddie Bauer?) from Target. The booster is not really expensive, but I still would like it to be in decent shape when we arrive!

What have you done?

We have the same Eddie Bauer bag and when we have checked car seats they were in fine condition, I believe we checked them with luggage because this was a full car seat for the baby and a booster for our then 4 year old. Too heavy to carry to the gate. In your situation though, those type aren't that heavy, I'd put it in the Eddie Bauer bag and check it at the gate. :)

I luggage check mine. And I don't have a purchased bag, I ask them at the luggage check in for a plastic bag for it. They put it in, seal it, tag it and it goes off. I have not had any trouble with it that way.

I usually gate check my stroller and have had more trouble with that each time. Delays in coming off the plane, damage to the stroller and bag, even misplacing it one time. I prefer to luggage check if possible.

Thanks! I think I will go with the luggage check so there will be less to carry with through security (I forgot about that part!).

It is good to hear about other's experiences! I appreciate it!
