Gate check a stroller

When you gate check a strolller -> Do you give to them prior to boarding, once on the plane, when? Also, where/when do you pick it up after you land. Thanks!

When you are in the boarding area and waiting for your section to be called, you just walk right up to the counter and tell them that you need to check your stroller. They put a tag on it and store it in the front of the plane. Every time we have done this, we have found our stroller open and waiting for us as soon as we stepped off the plane so that it could be used down the long hallway. This has always worked out great for us.

We generally ask for a gate check tag as soon as we arrive at the boarding area and there is someone staffing the desk. If you don't do this then you will have to as you are trying to board the plane... and hold up the line.

Once we are boarding, we push the stroller to the end of the jetway, where it turns right before you actually board the plane, and leave it there.

It is always waiting for us in the exact same place when we get off the plane at our destination...sometimes it's opened, sometimes it isn't.
