There was a posting on another board regarding GAT tickets and a problem the poster had. She had not completed the "travel date" entry on her ticket only purchase and when she arrived (on a Sunday) to the DLR her tickets would not print. This was because they were deleted 3 days after she purchased them as she not entered the travel dates. To make matters worse, GAT had phone problems that day and she (as well as the CM's at DL)was unable to get in touch with them and she ended up having to purchase entry tickets that day. She had used GAT before and had not had any problems so she was surprised she couldn't get anyone on the phone.

She did contact GAT, and they also monitor our boards, and they did provide refunds and apologies for the situation (due to the phone problem). GAT also mentioned that they are reviewing with their IT guy to change the date entry to be mandatory to prevent this in the future.

Considering I didn't remember entering any dates into MY ticket only purchase either, I did call GAT and my tickets had also expired which could've been a problem during our upcoming trip too. A helpful GAT agent fixed the date on my ticket order and reviewed the 800 number in case I needed anything during my trip.

Just wanted to give everyone a heads-up that you may want to confirm that your ticket order is all set for your upcoming trips. :wizard:

There are no dates on my email confirmation. We are leaving NOW for Disneyland, so I guess I'll need to deal with it when I get there. boo!

Same thing happened to me, two weeks ago today. We stopped at Guest services to pick up our GAT tickets, and they couldn't find a record of them. They called and found that my "dates of travel" had been listed as way back in May, when I purchased them. It was no problem once they called GAT; we had our tickets within a few minutes, but still, it was a moment of panic. In retrospect, I should have called and confirmed our tickets with GAT before we left.

Even when you are just purchasing dining vouchers, there is a date of travel to enter (at the top right, just above where you check which vouchers you are purchasing). We bought our quite early compared to our trip and I just phoned and let them know the date of our vacation and they changed it in the system so we would have no problem.

It makes sense though, or they would have to keep the tickets in the system forever......

Just used them 10-22 and had no problems picking up at the window - but I called my order in. They asked what day I planned to use them - so maybe that helped. They were so nice on the phone, I didn't bother with the interent ordering.

I too ordered my via phone. I must say that I was relieved to be able to order via a live person and not have to pay extra.

I just got off the phone with GAT. I was concerned when I looked at my receipt for our trip in December there was no travel date. As long as you gave them your travel date when you ordered your tickets you should be fine. I was told that all you need it a driver's license and are not asked for a receipt. :cool1:

GAT is Getaway Today, a tour operator that sells Disneyland vacation packages, Park Hopper Tickets and Meal Vouchers for character dining (among other things) they are at getawaytoday.com

Hi,

I just purchaged character breakfast tickets thru GAT this morning.
I haven't used their service before, so I am a bit nervous.

So, today is 11/7, and we are leaving monday for SoCal (11/10).
We won't be at DL until Thursday (11/13).
Planning to have the breakfast Saturday (11/15) - I still need to call Dining line to book a table.

I called GAT, and the operator told me to go pickup our tickets at ticket booth, once we are there.

Which booth? Regular entrance booth? Where else? How about a guest service at one of the resort hotels?
Do I just show my ID and pickup the tickets?

It says tickets include tip and tax - do we just give them the tickets, eat and leave? No other $ I should be leaving?

Thank you Disney experts for your help!!

Yes, you can pick up your ticket at a regular ticket booth or the customer service window to the left of the entrance gates or at one of the resort hotels guest services. You just show your ID and they print off your tickets (I always make sure the back of the ticket shows 2 MM just in case!) I usually take my confirmation with me in case there is an issue, but have never needed it.

I don't know about the dining vouchers as I haven't used those but someone on this board will certainly know!

Have fun on your trip!:flower3:

Did anyone find that using AAA discount (if you have it) for Goofy's Kitchen is cheaper than buying the voucher through GAT? If you consider the $10 fee, using the AAA or AP discount comes out to less. I guess it also depends on how much vouchers your purchase.

And I don't know if this is true, but when I called Disney Dining, I told them how much GAT offers them for and she says that the difference will be asked when redeeming the vouchers. Like I said, I don't know if that's true because unless the price is on the voucher itself, how would they know how much you paid for them. (unless it's scanned!!?!?)

For my date of 11/15, I was told the brunch would be $32.21, is that correct? I keep coming across websites with different pricing.

tax and gratuity are included on gat vouchers but we had such great service i still left a tip after we ate it was well deserved and u can pick up your meal tickets at the regular ticket booths at DL

Disney Dining knows nothing about anything other than what tables are open when. They don't know that the menu-ordering ends at Storyteller's at 11:30, even though you can still be seated for breakfast (this is bad if you have that seating and had intended to order off the menu!). They don't know that "chip and dale's breakfast" doesn't have chip and dale after they leave at 10:30am.

And all the times people have used the GAT vouchers 'round here, no one has ever said they will be asked for the difference. DD people aren't in the parks and don't work at the restaurants!

So rest your head about that. :goodvibes

Yeah, I got it.

As I said, I didn't know if it was true, just telling you what DD said.

We've used the GAT character dining vouchers several times - and each time we paid considerably less with GAT than if we had paid at the door, and you do not pay any more when you're there. They don't have a "cash value" attached, just that you get one character meal per voucher (depends on which you purchase, breakfast or dinner). The only dining vouchers I have seen with cash value printed on them are with the dining plan you can buy through WDTC. On those, the character meal voucher says something like Dinner at Goofy's Kitchen or up to the value of $27.79 at any table service restaurant (which is a lot less than what it costs for dinner at Goofy's!)

as others have said with gat vouchers your meal is paid in full no extras asked for when u get there!!!
