Gas Statuions Closing down?

Has anyone else noticed a large number of gas stations closing? I live in So cal and just on one offramp there had been 4 stations, it is now down to one. Everytime I trun around another station goes out of business. All sorts of brands too. Our gas is some of the highest in the nation, now over 3 a gallon right now but I am not sure if that has anything to do with it. My kids are older now so the days of Mommy I want some Cheetos, Mommy I want a kit kat bar are over. I can't remember the last time I went in to get a snack when I wasn't on a road trip. I wonder if that is the problem? Do you go in and get snacks and cokes on a regular basis? Anyone know what the deal is?

nope haven't seen any closing around here...it seems like all the gas stations in our area always have tons of business...we go in for sodas and frozen drinks occasionally as they are cheap during the summer.

There are quite a few out of business gas stations just in my town alone. Now some of these store have very limited if any snack stores in them.
