So, what's up with the price of gas? It's gone up here 5 cents per gallon in the last 2 days. At the local Marina it went up 20 cents per gallon overnight. :scared1:

Here we only say a decline in gas prices of 20 cents ... our local price only got down to $3.89, now it is on the way back up again? I guess somebody wants to really wreck the economy even more than it is.

No, no one is out to get us, it just seems that way. Petroleum prices unfortunately are at the mercy of so many things. Right now there is simply a lot of instability out there in the big ole world and the markets don't like instability.

1) Saudi Arbia walked out of the opec meetings in a hissy fit.
2) European debt crisis has people spooked.
3) US debt crisis has people spooked
4) It's summer, people are driving more, more demand means higher prices.
5) Tiger woods may retire.
6) fighting in the middle east

Any and all of the above may cause the price of oil to go up or down.

Bottom line is you're going to see a rollercoaster ride for a while.

Ours bottomed out at $3.34 last week. I filled up on Friday and they were at $3.45 and jumped another 15 cents over the weekend. I just don't get how they can just up 25 cents in less than a week and then take over 2 months to drop that much.

We are very sensitive to the prices in my household as both DH and I have 80 RT commutes (in opposite directions) each day.

Sorry..Sorry...I take full responsibility! We're going on vacation next week and driving so of course the price is going up!

Again, sorry but it appears to be our fault! :rotfl2:

i was surprised when it went down late June, but left town for four days and it went up 20+ cents while I was gone.
