Gas Prices - Does this look right?

looks right for me and thanks for sharing nice site!

I lost track of how many $50 tanks of gas we purchased on our most recent road trip from Ohio to WDW. In retrospect, I'm sure we paid at least $350 for the gasoline used. Since there were four of us in the car, it was still less expensive that flying (although if you count wear and tear it might not have been such a bargain).

And according to the news this morning, it appears that the Alaskan pipeline has some sort of problem and that the oil supply is going to be even tighter in the coming weeks. So $350 might be a bargain, I'm sad to say.

When I was in FL in March, their prices were higher than ours in NJ.

The gas prices look right, but your total of $350 seems slightly high unless you get lower gas mileage.

I'm driving from Michigan and we average about 25-30 mpg on our car. Using the fuel calculator, our average topped out around $297 round trip.

My family just realized the same thing recently. They were planning to drive from Chicago, but my mom couldn't go any more than 5-6 hours a day tops. It was going to take them 3 days each way with hotel stops along the way. There were 5 of them (2 adults and 3 kids) so they need 2 hotel rooms along the way. It was costing them $750 plus food for a 6 day drive. Southwest had fares at about $150 per person, so flying came out cheaper. They're using ME from the airport.

I used it to calculate the costs between Little Rock and New Orleans as that is a trip that I make quite often. There are two cars that I use so I'm pretty familiar with gas usage there and back.

It was pretty on the mark. I've gotten a little less mpg sometimes, but that is most likely because of hauling stuff down there with the a/c on.

Surprisingly it costs less than $25 more for me to take the big car (2006 Honda Odyssey) than to take the much smaller Pontiac Vibe.

Thanks for the link. It was accurate for us.Yesterday DH and I calculated the cost for auto travel from Denver, CO to Washington, DC and it came to $600 round trip for our Sequoia 4WD. When I put in the calculations using your link, the cost came to $607.28.

Cool - good to hear, thanks.

At least we'll have a pretty good ball park figure of what to expect.

Of course, this wouldnt include the Cheeto's, Mountain Dew, Gummy Worms, Cheese Crackers, and every thing else you can imagine I am asked for at each stop for gas. ;)
