we just heard this morning, that gas prices could reach $4 here in wisconsin in the very near future.
i am starting to feel old (& i'm not). remembering those $1.34 gas prices.
The sad part is that 8 years ago, before W became pres, the average price was $1.34/gallon...Historical Gas Price Averagesi am starting to feel old (& i'm not). remembering those $1.34 gas prices.
Its right around the corner, I just paid $3.79 for diesel tonight.
I never said George could control the world response to a commodity.. (OK, I probably did insinuate it some.) I was just trying to point out that gas has had over a 100% increase since he's been in office while the inflation rate was around 3% a year.Sorry, but neither W, nor anyone else that would have been in the White House has that much control over any particular commodity.
I thought I was young if you only remember $1.34 then I am older then I thought.
Don't blame the President for the oil prices, blame the commodities market for speculating on the oil supply. This last jump was due to the fire at the oil refinery in Texas. The spectators say "supply interruption, increase the price". Congress was the one that deregulated that market and now they won't do anything about the price gouging by big oil.
BTW, most of the higher prices in other countries are due to 50% taxes on a liter/gallon of fuel.![]()
