Gas Credit Card with Cash Back?

My DH just started a new job today, which is great because he's really excited about it. The only thing that's not so great is it's a 45 minute commute each way. Anyone know of the best credit card for gas purchases that would offer cash back or a rebate? We use Disney Visa for regular stuff, but would prefer to save more than 1% back on gas, if we can.

I use my Chase Freedom card and some months it's 5% cash back, but otherwise it is 1%.

My DH has a Shell card. There' no cash back, but the local places often have a 10-15 cent/gallon savings for using the card. I think our Exxon does that too, but its not as much a savings.

We have two. One is a Costco Amex, which gives us 3% off Costco's already superior gas prices. This one if the one I prefer to use, but we are not always near a Costco. The other is a Chase BP card, which gives me 5% off at BP stations. At $4 (or nearly) that's 20 cents. Not bad.

the Costco card is not only off Costco gas - i just got my card it says 3% cash back on any gas - hope i'm right thats why i got it!

We have the AAA Platinum Plus Diamond Advantage Visa card. It gives you 1% back off all purchases in the form of AAA gift certificates, which can be used for anything AAA sells (Disney tickets, airline tickets, etc.) or for auto repair at any AAA approved shop. You also get 3% back for all gas purchases, which is taken right off your monthly bill.

I get 2% back on gas with the Discover gas card. It used to be 5% but they lowered it.

if you use it at a gas station that's not Costco...
make sure it's not a "mini-mart" affiliate since it would only get 1%...
this also applies to the Chase card and other major ones (like Citi).
We've got the Costco business card and get 4% off on gas and w/Costco card you get additional % off travel and eating out (not sure if it's 2 or 3% but every bit helps)

Yes, the 3% back is on all gas purchases but I was warned to pay at the pump to get the credit. We love the Am Ex Costco True Earning card. We get a lot back each year.
