Gary Chapman? Where is Amy Grant's first husband?

I know he got in trouble for DWI a few years ago, but am curious of whatever happened to him. He had some pretty good songs of his own and I'm surprised he disappeared off the Christian music scene. I'm not that into Christian music, but I like his and Amy's songs.
