hi everyone,

trip is coming up in another 34 days :cool1:

is now a good time to place an order with gardengrocer.com? i know they ask for a 2-hour window for delivery. if i am arriving at 1:10pm at orlando international, what is the soonest 2-hour window that i should specify for delivery? if something unexpected happens and i am not there within that 2-hour window, will they leave the groceries at bell services even if there are perishables?

thanks so much for any insight anyone can give!

Hi,

I suppose you could place your order now. I think when we used them, I placed the order about a week or two ahead of time, in order to get the delivery window I wanted.

The soonest you can get your room is 3:00 (or is it 4:00, I'm drawing a blank). Anyway, I would make that my delivery window (something like 3-5). If you are not in the room, don't worry. They will leave everything with bell services. They have huge refrigerated chests to keep your food in. Then when you get to your room, just have bell services bring it all up.

Have a great trip!

I just got back. I had ordered about 3/4 weeks before to get the 4 - 6 pm window. They called me on my cell around 3:30 pm and told me they were in the area (BCV). We were headed to BCV from MK since our room was ready so it worked out perfect for us.

Check your order. It looked like everything was there but while checking we were missing a package of bages. They delivered the next morning which was fine (I had one already).

They can always store it with bell services. Not sure if it makes a difference but I chose to pay cash on delivery.

I ordered a month before, to make sure they still had slots left to deliver.

I don't know if the delivery window really matters. When I ordered I specified btw 4:00 and 6:00 (check-in is at 4:00) and they wanted to deliver to bell services well before our room was even ready. I still owed them money for extra groceries and didn't want to give my credit card to them over the phone, so they had to deliver after 4:00pm. I really think the driver just wants to get it done when it's convenient for him. Since they didn't just drop off with bell services, we had to check the order when he arrived. Nothing was missing, but if it was, I wouldn't have known if it was just left with bell services. Something to think about.

I have not used Garden Grocer, but Wegoshop.com. We have been very pleased. Both services get very positive reviews here on the DIS.
3 things I liked better with wegoshop.
1) You can order anything you want from a variety of stores rather than choosing fromt he list on their website.
2) We had a 1/2 hour window for delivery rather than 2 hours.
3) There is no minimum order amount and they do not mark up the prices. That said, there delivery fees are higher than Garden Grocer. They make their money one way or the other, I guess.
Good Luck
