Just wondering if anyone has any info to share about the garden walk...how far from hojo? Has anyone tried the bowling alley? Do we need a car if we want to eat there? How is parking? Any info appreciated...thanx.

You can easily get to Garden Walk from Hojo. It's about 4 city blocks away at most. There are several large eatery chains and my fave, Roy's (from Hawaii). I think Wendy went bowling there and liked it. Looks like we may have something else to investigate!

The walk is not bad. We walked it from the Candy Cane Inn. We went there to go to the Harley Davidson store. Didn't eat there but did notice a Bar Louie. We have been to the one in Tampa and Massachusetts. They have the best food, especially the macaroni and cheese.

Looks like a lot of dining choices, and we were thinking that bowling might be a fun afternoon getaway on one of the days...Just don't want to add TOO much more walking to the mix, knowing from previous experience how tired feet and legs get at disney...but we will have a car if we need to drive over to eat or pick up to go food...

We visited the GardenWalk in April and ate at the Cheesecake Factory. We didn't have time to do much exploring but the place was fairly empty. There is a parking garage and you can get your parking ticket validated so the parking is free. We were staying at the PPH so we drove.

Well, I guess I am the odd (wo)man out....
I would never walk from Hojo's to GW, waaaayyy too far, especially after a day in the parks and if you are wearing nice clothes/shoes. My feet can't take it. CCI, maybe, but they are fairly close. And the parking is a nightmare. All three times we have been, you have to go up at least three floors to find a spot, that's not so bad, it's getting OUT that is awful. I don't think they planned enough exit aisles as you crawl through a long line to get out. It made me cranky after what was a wonderful meal. Maybe it's the CA mentality in me of go-go-go, but waiting 15 minutes to get out is not fun!

That said, McCormick & Schmidt is my family's FAVORITE restaurant for a special meal! It is really that good.;) Roy's is wonderful, too as is Cheesecake Factory. I would definitely give the bowling alley a try and walk around and check the place out. It's very nice. :)
Have a great trip.

Thanx Lulubelle...I think I'm with you on the walking...It seems a bit far after all the walking we do at Disney. Maybe we will just do it one of the afternoons and drive over...we will be prepared for the parking...Thanx again for the info.
