The Garden View Tea room is really very pretty. We did have a fairly poor experience but we would go back armed with what we know now. We inquired about The Prince Edwards Tea and we were assured by our server that there was not enough to share even for a snack. Unless you are planning on tea as a primary meal for the day we do not agree at all however I would suggest skipping the food here unless you order ala cart and get exactly what you want. Tea ala cart was $5.95 a pot. The Prince Edwards tea was $21 per person. This included, Duck/cherry Roulade which was the best thing on the plate, Country pate en crout which was incredibly stale and simply inedible, chicken roulade which tasted very good however the texture was course, yuch. There was a single medium slice of Stilton that was very low quality and berries. Some of the berries on my plate were bad. The second course was two scones. I would try the scones again however the ones we were served were dry and crumbly and resembled mini bisquits more than scones. They were served with whipped butter and not devonshire cream as advertised. The jam was served litteraly in a room service smuckers jar. More than a bit tacky for such a formal room. The server would not refil our tea so it was a semi-self serve event. The final course was a non-alcaholic cider we choose to replace the port. Overall not a very good experience for $50+ . We will return for tea and scones in the future. Just a little QC from the staff would have really improved the experience.
