My daughter has an interest in tea parties, we are constantly doing them here with her American Girl dolls.
I looked into the My Princess Tea pArty but I just can't see spending $250! Also, the food and tea selection (for myself lol) looks way better here.
My daughter has a peanut allergy and was wondering if anyone has been there with a food allergy and how were they accommodated? We have been to Disney 2xs before and they were always very accommodating with her allergies, but a lot of this seems like pastries, which we are usually told to stay away from while @ WDW.
Thanks!

While I don't have an allergy I have done tea. They are very happy to change out the types of tea sandwiches for you. For example I hate shrimp. So I just got an extra gorgonzola pear sandwich. No big deal at all.

Last time I checked (which was last september) you have to call to make the ADR for tea. The CM you speak to can put down her food allergy. And if you give a call a few days before your trip I bet they'd even make her a special pastry that didn't contain any nut products or oils for her.

It really is a fun time! :)

it looks very pretty, I think it would be a real treat for DD, me and my mother.

I was just there this past Monday. :lovestruc (I always get the Buckingham Palace. ;) )

And I have been there with someone with a food allergy. As with all Disney sit down restaurants, they were very accommodating. Just make sure to mention the food allergy when you book the ADR.

If you have a 5 year old who really loves tea parties you should really look into the Wonderland Tea Party at the GF. DD loved this when she was 5. She enjoyed it a lot more than the Perfectly Princess tea party - and it was WAY less expensive.

I then had a reservation for the GF Gardenview Tea. DD and I sat and enjoyed a tea together and she told me all about the Wonderland tea.

After that we stopped into the GF gift shop and I bought DD an alice in Wonderland tea cup to bring home. She said it was the best afternoon ever.

The Wonderland Tea Party, tea for 2 at the Gardenview and a beautiful Alice tea cup still cost less than the Perfectly Princess tea!

What is the wonderland tea party?

The Wonderland Tea Party is a tea party for kids only, ages 4-10. DD was 5 when she went. There were 8 girls in total in her group, ranging from 4-7 in age.

It was for 60 minutes, and they played with Alice and the Mad Hatter. There were 2 other CMs in the room as well. They had a decorate your own cupcake and apple juice "tea". They then played hide and seek with the mad hatter and alice. They had a photo taken with Alice and the Mad Hatter, which was then placed in a keepsake folder and autographed by Alice and the Mad Hatter. They also decorated a mug that they were given to keep.

At pick up time they surprised the moms with flowers.

The entire event only cost about $40. It was a fantastic value and she had a blast. She wants to go back this year (she will be 7).

We had tea there last month and, even though we don't have allergies in our group, I can say they seemed very sensitive to allergy issues. Our server asked us if we had any seafood or nut allergies just to be sure. The table behind us did have a member with a nut allergy and I overheard the server explaining to her that some of the sandwiches could be switched (different breads and spreads) for her and then the chef came out to their table as well.

One other thing -- if you have to stay away from the pastries, they do have strawberries and whipped cream for dessert as well. DD got them and loved it!

The strawberries and cream are very yummy and they will change out any sandwiches you don't want or can't eat because of allergies. The GF tea is very good. We loved it and made for a lovely & relaxing break in the midst of busy Disney day. Enjoy it!!!
