Our 180-day ADR window opens up on Wednesday. I was hoping to get an ADR for the afternoon tea in the Garden View Lounge at the Grand Floridian, on the day the rest of the family will be joining us at WDW. We will be 10 people altogether. I was playing around with the online ADR system earlier today, just to refamiliarize myself with it. Every restaurant I looked at 180 days in advance had availability for 10 people, except for Garden View Louge Afternoon Tea. If I changed the amount of people to 4, it was available. The time I put into the system was 3pm, so it searched for any times between 1pm and 5pm...and nothing was available for 10 people. As I said, I checked other restaurants just to be sure...including Chef Mickey's breakfast, Ohana dinner, and California Grill, and all of those were available to book for 10 people, for the same date as I requested the tea. I also tried to change the dates around for the tea, and it always said that there was nothing available...but then it would be available if I changed it to a party of 4.
Is the Garden View Lounge set up so that it can't accommodate a party of 10? In the past when I have made ADRs for all 10 of us, the ADR confirmation would say that we may be seated at more than one table, but I never had a problem actually booking restaurants 180 days out. Is it better if I call for this one, or would it not make a difference? What should I do?
