Garden Grove vs. Fresh breakfast buffets

I'd like to try either Fresh or Garden Grove for breakfast on our arrival day, and would most likely get the buffet. I know GG has weekend characters, but this will be a weekday. Has anyone tried both and have suggestions regarding what they prefer? Thanks!

We tried GG a few years ago and hated it. There was not much of a selection on the buffet and the food was not very good. Have never tried Fresh. Not sure if you have an objection to characters but would recommend Cape May at the BC.

No objection to characters, it's just not a priority. This trip will be just me and teenage son. I'll check out Cape May. Thanks-

Suggestion:
GG and Fresh Med probably don't get as much traffic as Cape May. My assumption would be that freshness would be an issue later in the am. (I have experienced this first hand at GG.) If your breakfast is gonna be early, I'd do the Swolphin places. If it's gonna be late, do Cape May.

I have not tried both, but we ate at GG most mornings when we were at the Swan in November, and were happy with it. The weekday buffet isn't as extensive as the weekend offerings, but I think they will make you things that aren't out. The server offered Mickey Waffles to YDS, had them made in the kitchen and brought them to the table. I also took advantage of the "cold" buffet, as it was included in our stay (DH has platinum status from business travel) and it included the hot cereals (oatmeal and grits) which had nice fixings - variety of nuts, fresh and dried fruit, etc.

We split stay at Swan & Dolphin most every vacation (along with Bay Lake Tower).

If your selection is about the food - Fresh is a superior buffet and the only place at Disney that, I believe, serves fresh juices (i.e., carrot, beet, kale). Carved meats and made-to-order eggs, pancakes, and waffles are also top-notch. But no characters. There are also pastries, fruit & cereal. You may order the buffet or a la carte. They discount for AAA (and DVC).

Garden Grill does have a more limited buffet. When staying along Boardwalk, we prefer Cape May too (maybe because Goofy is my favorite Character).:thumbsup2

But our new favorite (prince & princess) Character meal along Boardwalk is Bon Voyage at Trattoria al Forno - better food, but not a buffet.

Thanks. We're really jut looking for an easy, good breakfast once we arrive. My son loves buffets, especially for breakfast, so it looks like Fresh fits the bill!
