Has anyone been to either of these character meals? I understand Gulliver's is for dinner and Garden Grove is breakfast. We're interested in seeing Pluto, who I think is at both. Any opinions on character interaction, quality of food?

Back in 2001 we saw Pluto there. But we've been there only once since then and saw only Rafiki. From what I understand, it is one person playing all characters which is why you usually only see one at a time.

It is a nice place with good food and service and decent character interaction. But don't expect it to be like a Disney restaurant character meal -- it is much more subdued.

That being said, we'd still go back as it was nice.

We did the dinner meal three years ago, so this is dated info, but we had a very pleasant evening. The characters were Goofy and Pluto and only one was out at a time, but there was hardly anyone eating in the restaurant and we were one of the few groups with kids, so we got a TON of character interaction. It wasn't cheap, we all had the buffet option and I don't remember it being either great or awful so it must have been ok, but it was a very fun night overall. And like the last poster said, much more subdued than other character meals we have attended.

We did the character dinner July '05. I thought it was awesome. It wasn't extremely crowded and the character interaction was great. The characters were Goofy & Pluto. My son was wearing a Goofy hat and Goofy took him around the restaurant showing everyone. The food was excellent. There was a kids & adult buffet but, you were welcolme to eat where ever. Also, you can order off the menu. Last but, not least a huge dessert table with just about anything you can imagine. BTW - I ordered off the menu and was still able to eat off the buffet if I wanted. The waitress insisted I go and grab something. Everyone was extremely nice & the price of the meal was relatively cheap. IMHO worth trying. It's as nice or better than Disney's due to the crowd size.

There are different characters for different days. Also, the theme of the buffet changes daily.

This is probably the most relaxing character meal which is a nice change from most of the others. It is never real crowded. Dinner choices include a buffet or menu items as does breakfast. The buffet changes daily from American to Italian to seafood, etc. It's probably the better value.

The characters that usually appear there are Goofy & Pluto except on Monday and Friday night it's usually Timon and Raffiki. I believe the weekend breakfast also includes Chip n Dale.

We have not been there for the character meal..but we have been for breakfast..it is fantastic. Wonderfully delicious..I definately recommend it with or without the characters.

That has been our experience, too, for breakfast.

I wanted to also add that one bonus of this character meal over others is that the character(s) visit you more than once. They come by quite often since there is never really a lot of people there. That is nice.
