Has anyone used the DVC discount to eat at there?

Talk on another thread about the Cape May breakfast made me think of this one. Anyone?

i had a great experience there and thought it was an excellent value with the discount. the stuffed half lobster was tasty. if the scallops are being replenished often, they come out in great shape. and the desserts are amazing.

We really liked the Friday seafood buffet and heartily recommend it. But there were no characters when we were there.

We ate dinner at the GG last Jan, we had no ADR and walked right in. There was a DVC discount (also accepted TIW). Goofy and Pluto were there that night. There were only two other families dining so the characters took a lot of time with the kids which was awesome. The food was good too!

My family wants to try this, but I just realized it probably would entail a fee to park if we're not staying around the BW area.

Why not use the WDW Transportation system? Take a bus to the Studios and then hop a boat or walk to the Swan.

Thank you, I will ask family if they're interested in doing that. We'll be coming from VWL in April. Some will be checking out that day, but they can just bring things over to our room.

if you are staying onsite (or have an AP or something), you could park for free at DHS and take the boat to the boardwalk (depending on DHS' hours for that day.)

We love Garden Grove for breakfast. Eggs as you want them station, great selection and service. They do take DVC discount and the character breakfast is weekends only. Goofy and Pluto. Never did dinner so can't help you on that.

I just inquired about this exact situation last week. Here is the email that I received back from one of the concierges at the Swan:

"It will be my pleasure to assist you with the information you are requesting regarding the menu prices. The price of the adult buffet is $23.99. It will be all adults since child age is from 3yrs- 9yrs old. The total for your party with the 20% discount would be $61.32. That is including tax. They can validate parking for you. You will just need to ask either the hostess or the server when you arrive. On Sunday mornings we have Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale*. They are here in the restaurant from 8am-11am.

I look forward to your visit and if you need any further assistance please don’t hesitate to email or give me a call.

*Characters are subject to change without notice.
