This will be the first time we are on a dinning plan. So we don't need to do a full on grocery shop. And no rental car so for some beverages and snacks for the room I am thinking about doing an order.

We are staying at blt and will arrive before our room is ready do we have to be there when they deliver or is it left at a desk at the hotel

Generally garden grocer will leave it at the front desk. And once you arrive back to your hotel you can call and have it brought or (or you can go get it)

There is a minimum order, I think $45. Not sure if you will hit that with just snacks and drinks. You may want to consider sending a box of snacks down ahead of you, or making a quick trip to the store instead.

I recently ordered from garden grocer for my spring break trip. They are a great site. You have to have a $40 minimum order, and you pay $12 for shipping. It is worth it though. If you buy the groceries 60 days out, they will give you a 10% discount on your order. You pick the day you want them to deliver (most likely your arrival day), and the time frame when you want your order to arrive at the resort. If it is delivered before you get there, the front desk will hold it for you, and you can get it once you arrive! It is very easy and worth it to use for a vacation!

What types of groceries do people order? If you don't have a Villa/with a kitchenette, do you still order some things for the room?

We are staying at POFQ. We have ordered bottled water, wine, snacks (nuts, granola bars, crackers), yogurt, milk, cereal. It took no time at all to hit the $40 min. :)

We stayed at CSR in November and loved our experience with garden grocer! We did have the dining plan, but some days we wanted to eat breakfast before we left, and needed some late night snacks after places have closed!

We ordered:
24 pack of waters
4 pack of OJ
4 pack of Muffins
a few bags of chips
trail mix
Goldfish
Liquid Hand Soap
Fabreeze for the bathroom
Epsom Salts for foot soaking after a long day of walking!

You maybe better off just packing some snaks as it does not sound like you have a large order. After you tip everyone your cost may double.

I would buy a case or two of water, dairy things if needed (milk, yogurt ect), cereal and maybe some fruit if you want. This is pretty much what I ordered. I plan on bringing snacks with me, since they are so easy to pack. You will save money by doing this.

Despite the fact they dont have powerade zero we placed an order today. it was easy to get to the 40 bucks a few snacks laundry soap 2 cases of water and some mt dew. We did put a request In to see if they can get powerade zero. It was nice to get a call confirming the order leting us know it will be with bell services and that we could add to the order up to 2 days before

Whats also great about the site, is that if they can get the item they didn't originally had, you can add it to your order very easily!

I agree, I also liked how they call to confirm that your order is placed if requested and when delivered to the resort.

It's nice that you don't have to be there when they deliver. I had our delivery scheduled for three hours before our plane landed. They stored all items at the bell services area, including all of our refrigerated items. We ordered a couple of cases of water, pop, breakfast items, yogurt, snacks (chips, cookies), wine, liquid hand soap (hate bar soap at hotels - it gets goopy!).

Have a quick question as we are there in Sept. Normally we have our parents car to shop really quick but they are not there for another week so we are ordering from Garden Grocer. I have read different info and are at CSR. Did they charge you a fee to store the items since they are considered a convention resort? Thanks!

I believe all hotels charge a fee for this? (I could be wrong, but that's what I thought... :earboy2:)

What other people said, no fee! It gets sent to bell services!

Maybe a silly question, but do they keep cold stuff refrigerated? Are there specific times to pick up by? And will they provide the same service if we bring our own and the room is not yet ready? We plan on getting in early and going straight to the park after checkin and staying out all night... Our milk certainly won't last that long :)

And (likely no different, but...) if we're staying in DVC suite, would anything be different?

Thanks everyone!

No differences for DVC. They will refrigerate cold stuff whether it's delivered by a grocery delivery place or you bring your own and your room isn't ready yet.

Thanks so much everyone. Not that it would stop us from ordering just makes it a little nicer!
