Is $10 an appropriate tip for a $88 order? I really have no clue.

Thanks

For outstanding service above and beyond their normal responsibilities, sure.

Disneynutz Im feeling you think it is too much? I was asking not just because I dont want to undertip but also because I tend to overtip without realizing.

Are you looking for what is supposedly etiquette or what we do?

My DH looked it up and delivery people supposedly should get 20% of the bill. I find that ridiculous unless they are feeding me or putting my groceries away etc. lol

For $88 we would do $10 or round it up to $100 and give them 12 if it were cash which I know GG isn't I'm just explaining.

I hate the idea of doing something because someone like a grocery delivery company suggests that you do. There was a post last week where GG mentioned on their website that the tip is shared by 3 people. Too bad, how about paying your people better and not taking tips from people for just doing your job.

As I have posted before, IMO tipping is out of control and companies are taking advantage of guests, especially in tourist areas because they have created the idea that a tip is expected and that you should feel bad for not tipping.

Again, IMO tipping is reserved for providing exceptional service, not because you expect it or because your employer has lowered your wage expecting the customer to pay the employees wage.

Adding a mandatory tip to a bill or dining plan is also wrong IMO.

Agreed that it is a little out of hand. I think that I screw up tipping timing...

I usually do split stay, without a car. So, I tip the 1st resort bell svs to take my bags out of the first room to move them to the 2nd resort, then tip bell services to bring my bags to the second resort room. And, I've tipped garden grocer online, who usually leaves my groceries with bell services. Then, I tip bell services again when they bring the groceries up!w

And I've been told $1 per bag, so with 3 pieces of luggage, laptop bag, and all the groceries, it gets pretty expensive.

Plus -- Garden grocer is making a profit on the groceries, they are elevated prices to begin with (at least it seems that way to me), but yep, I usually tip $10 - plus the $12 delivery fee, plus the elevated grocery prices.

I think we are going to rent a car just for those first couple nights this time, and I think between saving some money by grocery shopping ourselves and transporting our own stuff, and saving time just getting ourselves from one resort to the other via bus/DTD/new resort, and dropping the car off at Dolphin resort and walking over to Boardwalk, win-win I think anyhow ;) Sorry this got a little long winded!

We have used WeGoShop and GG in the past and renting a car for a day is cheaper and you get what you order. We also eat off site that day and shop for anything that we forgot or need to restock our OL.
