We will have a rental car on our upcoming trip, but I still can't decide if we should stop at the grocery store on the way to the hotel or use Garden Grocer. Any thoughts?

This will be our 1st trip with children and we'll have twin 2 1/2 year olds plus luggage, stroller, etc. I'm just worried that stopping at the grocery store will be too much.

Is it dumb to do a Garden Grocer order when we have a rental car? Thanks!!

I don't think grocery shopping in a strange store w/twin 2 yos while on vacation sounds at all fun! I say, order from Garden Grocer to maximize your vacation time and minimize potential meltdowns and spontaneous purchases - it will be well worth the delivery fee!

Have a great trip!

We have four kids and the last thing I want to do on vacation is grocery shop! Garden Grocer all the way!!! On our last visit the food DID arrive several hours earlier than what we had requested and before our arrival at the GF. It was all fine stashed in fridges at beel services though so it worked out fine.

We're heading there w/ our almost 3 year twins in 2 weeks - I just placed the Garden Grocer order. One less thing to worry about!

gardengrocer.com is a grocery delivery service that serves the WW area. You ordre on line and they deliver to your resort room. We've used it a couple of times and the order was correct, I believe, bith times. The most recent time the delivery arrived several hours prior to when it was supposed to and before we checked in to our hotel, but Bell Services at the GF had a fridge and kept it all in there until we arrived.

Prices are a bit high, but much more reasonable the park prices for snacks, water, soda, etc...

We've been using Garden Grocer for years and will be again in October. Actually I will be placing my order next week. Grocery shopping with 4 kids and DH after our flight is the last thing I want to do on my Disney vacation! They deliver it right to your resort, baggage will hold it if you have not checked in yet and then deliver it right to your room! The delivery fee is money well spent as far am I'm concerned!

Another vote for Gardengrocer. We've used them multiple times with no issues at all. Its a lot easier to shop online ahead of time for what you all think you want..have it waiting for you. I hate shopping in a grocery store when you don't know the aisles and spend time looking for things.

Great, I'm convinced! Now all I need to do is look at Garden Grocer to get ready to place my order....thanks everyone!!

We drive down so we have our own car and still use Garden Grocer. :goodvibes The last thing I want to do is drag 3 tired kids into a grocery store for milk and such after a loooooong drive. And there's no way DH gets to leave me in the room with 3 little tornadoes while he runs off to the grocery store by himself! :lmao:

I'll pay a tiny bit more for the convenience of checking into our room and having bell services bring over a couple bags of groceries which GG has magically delivered earlier. Oh my, yes! I can refill their sippy cups with some nice cold milk, hand out a few granola bars, and put my feet up while the kids burn off their pent up energy in the comfort of our hotel room.

Oh, and GG will also deliver alcoholic beverages if you request it. It's not on their shopping list but you can make a specific request in the comments section or send them an email. :woohoo:

I love Garden Grocer! We used them one time when we were flying instead of driving. Our daughter was about 8 months old and ate all formula and baby food at the time. We ordered all of her stuff (including diapers and wipes) through GG, and it worked out so well. We got the ready-made bottles that you just shake and put a nipple on. I used a microwave bag to steam the nipples at night, and voila! they were ready for the next day. I know your children aren't that young, but someone else might find that helpful. We also ordered bottled water and breakfast items, which allowed us to spend almost nothing additional on food (we were on DDP on that trip).
