On Garden Grocers web site FAQ, it states that you should order as soon as you book (sounds excessive). They say there are limited delivery time slots. We won't be able to finally commit to our trip until 6 days before arrival. From experience, is it likely we can't get delivery with 6 days notice in mid November?

I've never heard that. We use them every trip with zero issues. From 60 days before arrival to 4

GG does sometimes have notices regarding limited slots available, but usually during times times of high attendance - Spring Break, Summer and the winter holiday season. As soon as you can order, do so and you can call them to double-check as well; they have great customer service. The main reason for ordering early if you can is that there are discounts -- 15 days - 5%, 30 days -7%, 60/days - 10%.

I've used Garden Grocer several times and try to book ahead to get the discount and time slot I want. The one time I booked more last minute we just couldn't get the delivery slot I would have preferred.

I don't find it excessive. If you aren't sure of your committal to your reservation, I can see why you are hesitant to call Garden Grocer. But for those of us with nonrefundable air tickets, approved vacation weeks, and trip insurance...well, there isn't much I haven't committed to. I gladly took the 10% discount at 60 days and had my choice of delivery times. Of course they can ask customers to book early since they are having to do all of the work. If you decide to do it, it is really worthwhile. We ordered enough food for breakfasts for the week for the cost of one meal. My husband was very happy :)

You get a small discount the earlier you place your order. I tend to place mine on the same day that I make FP+ for the 10% discount.

In our case, we won't know if we have to cancel due to a work commitment (variable project end time) so felt like we shouldn't order food until we know we're going. I'll probably just try to order 6 days ahead and they can't deliver, use another source.

I have started to use fairytaleshopper ..she is really flexible and fees are not expensive.....she pays real attention to detail with orders too

The earlier you order, the better the discount you'll get.

You can change your order and still retain the original discount.

Had a great experience with Garden Grocer. Order beer soda water milk cereal and peanut butter from them. When you add up the cost of beer and soda you quickly make uup for the fees

They will most likely be able to deliver, you just might not get the exact time slot you want. We've ordered up to 3 days before with no problem.
