I have a question. I am a really picky eater and I was wondering has anyone been able to get the kids plate instead of the adult plate at Garden Grill. There will only be adults at the table, but I am not a fan of the adult food. I am willing to go just for the characters, because I think they are really great there. Just curious it never hurts to ask.

Thanks

I do not think there would be a problem with you requesting the kids' menu food. However, I think you'd still pay the adult price. That's how it is generally done at the family style all you can eats.

Garden Grill is served family-style, so they bring it all to your table. Are there any kids in your party? If so, you'll get the kids food along with the adults on platters placed in the center of the table and everyone helps themselves to whatever. If you don't have kids, you may have to special request the kids' selections. Can't imagine any problem either way! Enjoy. :)

The OP mentioned that their party is all adults, so they'd have to request the kids' food. (I have heard of that being done with picky teens at 'Ohana, which has an alternative kids' menu for dinner, but they paid the adult price).

I just ate here Tuesday night. My daughter is not only picky but vegetarian too. Our waiter was so wonderful. He literally brought us everything they had back in the kitchen. They are so accomodating and nice at this restaurant. I didn't like the fish yet loved the sweet potato fries from the kids' menu so he brought us more of those. HOnestly, you will have no problem there. Have fun!

Has anyone eaten here with an under 3?? Just wondering if they will bring any of the children's food out for DD or if we should plan on her eating the adult food or bringing her other food to munch on.:confused3

Under 3 can eat anything that is brought out at no charge.

Well yes, I know that my DD can eat for no charge, my question was will they bring out the children's food for her (mac and cheese, etc..) or will they only bring us the adult food??

Can't say for sure but I would guess they will bring whatever she wants from either menu, as the food is available and does not need to be specially prepared.

When we went when the boys were 2, I don't think they brought out any "kids" food-- just what was for the adults. However, to almost all our meals that trip, I brought a PB&J sandwich and some jars of baby food veggies to supplement their meal in case they wouldn't eat any of the "adult" food. Never had a problem doing that. I do think, though, that at some of the meals that trip, they may have brought out some "children's menu" items for them although we did not request it. I just can't remember where it was!!! (Pretty sure it wasn't GG though...) I imagine that's most likely going to just depend on what server you get if they're feeling helpful and generous. Definitely not something to expect when you're not paying for it. Although of course, you can always pay for a child's meal at any time for your DD if you're so inclined!

I'd wonder if the previous poster asked for children's food and was told "no" or the servers just didn't bring out children's food.

I can't imagine they would refuse to bring children's food if asked, but anything is possible.

I am sure we will be fine, I was just curious. Guess it will never hurt to ask. It's our dinner on our arrival night and we have the last seating of the evening at 7:50, so maybe they'll be ok with it as long as they have some left?? Most of our other meals are buffets so I am not worried, or meals that I know what we will order she'll eat. Only at one, Le Cellier, do I think we will order her a child's meal, even though I think it's just wrong to order her a hotdog there :rotfl:

I wonder how this would work out for us next week with our 2.5 yo daughter, considering that she has egg, peanut, and some tree nut allergies and might require some special consideration at some point. I'm just thinking that it might be kind of hard to ask for special consideration when we may not be paying for her to eat.

To further complicate matters, she doesn't eat much in the way of highly processed food (such as french fries, American "cheese", hot dogs, or chicken nuggets);we simply don't feed her this stuff and she doesn't really miss it.

We just went to Garden Grill with our 21 month old.

They brought us the adult and kid selections without us asking.
He said- you have a little one so we will bring you the kids selections free of charge (we had DDP- two adults)

We didnt like the food - not our type of food but it was SOO worth going for the character interaction. IT WAS THE BEST. Dale was AWESOME with our daughter.
