I have an ADR for Garden Grill that I'm second guessing.

I read the menu and see it is served family style. Does this mean they will keep bringing out as many platters of food as your party needs? I'm assuming it is an all you can eat type thing?

Also, one of the foods on the platter is seafood which no one in our party eats. Can we request that they not bring it?

And, last question (I promise!)... I see on the menu that the kids have different food listed. Does that mean that they "have" to eat off of the kids platter? Or can we all share?

We were at Garden Grill the first week in June. IMO, it is one of the better character experiences in DW. The characters (Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale) came around several times and the way Garden Grill is set up you never feel like their are others jumping on you to see the characters. Each character spent lots of time with our children.

The restaurant is a revolving restaurant...slowly of course. DD and DS (ages 5 and 3) thought that was the coolest thing. They could see parts of the Land ride from the table.

Regarding the food. The food is OK...not the greatest but it was OK...yes , it is served family style...all you can eat. I am sure you could tell the server not to bring something...hey, I wouldn't want to waste something either. Our server would occasionally come to the table and ask us what we wanted more of...we weren't fond of the cat fish (just because we are not big fish eaters) so we did not get any more of that. I loved the dressing on the salad...salad was OK. The night we went, the steak was good and the turkey was moist. The Blueberry dessert was awesome.

The kids had mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, and fries. For dessert they had a choice of worms in mud...or something else...cant remember. But it was no problem if they picked from the adult food and vise versa.

Again, the food was OK...not the worse...but the rotating restaurant overlooking the land ride and the character experience made the dinner truly enjoyable.

Have fun.

Thanks so much for all of the info! I think you put my mind at ease. I'm sure the kids will enjoy the characters and the revolving restaurant. I'm thinking we should just keep it and give it a try.

I'm second guessing this one aswell. I'd really like to eat at Coral Reef but GG was our original plan. I think the kids would enjoy this though so I'm trying to convince myself to stick with it.

We have been to the coral reef and the garden grill and I say keep your garden grill res. The garden grill is very good , we have been 3 times, last time being in may of this year and loved it!You can ask not to have the catfish, I m not a fish eater but other members of my party had it and loved it! This is one place that we always add to our dining reservations and will add to our future res. as well. I liked the coral reef but the garden grill is so much better I m sure you won t be disapointed!:thumbsup2

Thanks for that. I need some glowing reports to reassure me. :) I'm a big fish eater so the catfish should be great. The thing is i don't eat any other meat so thats it for me. But the rest of the family do so they should be happy. And I was pleased with the decision to eat at GG until I saw pictures of Coral Reef. Anyway, it sounds like we will really enjoy it. Thanks again.

As I said Im not a fish eater but my sister is and all I heard for the rest of the trip when we were talking about the food is how much she loved the catfish at the garden grill. You can ask for more no problem! Your kids will love it and the characters do spend alot of time with each family more then anywhere else that does character dining so you will have lots of pictures here to take! Do the tour before you have dinner or lunch whatever the case, living with the land. It is very interesting and you will see that the catfish and other foods are grown right there at epcot! We loved the salad and asked for more! Everything was so fresh! Enjoy!:thumbsup2
