Garden Grill

I really haven't heard much about this place, but decided to book it on our trip. Which characters have been there lately? How is the food?

The characters are Farmer Mickey, Pluto and chip n' Dale.

There are some positives:
The restaurant rotates slowly giving you a different scenery during your meal.
Service was excellent.

There is a negative:
Food was terrible. Some people like the food here, but I found it disgusting. It had no flavor whatsoever and the meat was dry and chewy. DH actually asked the server for a child's meal for himself since DD's food looked much better!

Even though tables were empty, we had to wait 15 min. to get in.

The character interaction was excellent during our lunch visit in October. Be sure to ask for seating in the lower tier--the higher tier negates seeing much of the terrain as you revolve. Also the service was very attentive--frequent drink refills and requests for more food quickly handled. The restaurant is one of the quieter venues for a character event.

The potato casserole was good and I was surpirsed that we all liked the fish. The beef was thinly sliced, rather tough and generally just "ok". The veggies inluded al dente green beans which could have been cooked just a tad longer. I'm all for not overcooking veggies--but they were darn near raw! Dessert was an apple concoction--very sweet and it was quickly devoured. The child in our group received a cupcake to ice and decorate. He really enjoyed that. Overall, the food was so-so; not great/not bad/average and plentiful. But, then again, I wasn't expecting gourmet fare.

We would go again for the characters.

We really enjoyed our meal at the Garden Grill in 2006. The food was served family style and we were able to see the characters twice. It was fun seeing them in their farmer costumes. The food was not spectacular but it was enjoyed – the main courses were turkey, beef, and fired cat fish. I remember the bread/butter and the fresh veggies. DD was eating off the adult menu so I can not comment on the kids plate. When making plans for our last minute March trip this was one of the few character meals DD (now 12) requested we do again. The Garden Grill has been has come up several times in the last 6 weeks or so. Since the search feature is not working here are a few threads I know about.
