Garden Grill - Worth Going?

Love the Garden Grill. The food was really good and the desert was wonderful. The characters interacted with the kids and took their time. About the seating. It is a round resturant with 3 levels. So even if you are on the top level (mind you we are talking about 3 stairs up) you can see the characters.! Doesn't really matter cuz they come to every table. I really enjoyed the Garden Grill and plan on going back in May.... The resturant rotates very slowly. You really don't notice it. It takes a good hour to go around once. Hope you enjoy it.:goodvibes

We took DD6 (at the time) and the only Mickey meal we could get was at Garden Grill. (booked our vacation less than a month before we left) SO WORTH IT!!! DD(9 next week) asked just last week if we're going back there when we go to WDW in June. Chip and Dale were halerious! (SP?) She still talks about Dale "eating" her mac and cheese (she still believes he did eat it :) )
We thought the food was pretty good. Different fare from what we had been eating all week, but we're also meat and potatoes type of people so this was our style. We also really like the rotating scenary. It was really not very noticable unless you continually watched the walls.
Would I go back? Yes, if my goal wasn't to go to all new TS's this time around, and quite honestly may still go back- I still have about 3 ADR's left to make...

Of course it is worth to going. Garden Grill is my family's most favourite restaurant. Best food and excellent atmosphere. Specially my kids love this.
Best one and great place for enjoy as well.

Can anyone tell me if it's all booths? From the blog pictures, it looks like that's the case. We have a reservation in June for 4 adults and 2 kids. The kids still need highchairs. Well one could probably do with a booster in the booth (she will be almost 2.5) but the 9 month old needs a highchair.

I think some of the problems people have with the food is that it's very simple compared to other places at Disney. I enjoyed it, it had a fresh kind of home spun feel to it (the food). It wasn't the absolute best meal I've ever had, but certainly not the worst. I like that the restaurant isn't huge, and the character interaction is great. My only negative is that I could feel the rotation. Let me say that I have a balance issue and I truly think that's why I was so sensitive to it. I was also facing backwards so that might have had something to do with it too. The friend I was with is prone to motion sickness and the rotation didn't bother her. I'd definitely try it again, just facing the other way!

Thank you for bringing up the point about balance issues, I had brain surgery in December and what I have causes balance issues so this is GREAT to know!!

I really liked the food and the character interaction was great!

We have gone the past 3 or 4 years and like the Garden Grill. I didn't think it was quite as good last year as in the past (Can't put my finger on why exactly) but I would do it again.

They do have seating at tables on the top level that are on the inside of the circle (if that makes sense?). I don't think they'll do high chairs on the outside revolving edge.
We have always loved eating at GG. My kids beg me to make a reservation each trip, and they look forward to the characters and good food. They always find something to eat, especially the mac & cheese, chicken drumsticks and beef. :thumbsup2

We were at Garden Grill in May and really enjoyed the food. The atmosphere was ok- the constant turning was kind of neat to give you different views.

Our character interaction was disappointing and thankfully, our bad experience sounds like it definitely was not the norm. We were there for an hour and the only characters to come to our table were Chip and Pluto. Thankfully, those were the two my kids wanted to see the most.

Glad to read the reviews on Garden Grill we are visiting WDW in October for the first time in 7 years and we loved it then so pleased to hear it is still a good place to eat. We especially loved the character interaction - sure our 6 year old will love it.

Thanks
Tracey

We were there in December and loved it! Our server was great, the food was really good, and the character interaction was the best of the whole time. Chip came by our table twice and spent a long time with our DH (1 year old at the time). It was a wonderful experience. So much so that we are doing it again in October!:thumbsup2

What size are the booths (seat how many)? We are a party of 8 (4Adults and 4kids under 9), but my in laws added late so our ADRs are for 6 and 2.

We ate there for the first time -after making ADRs several times but bailing for one reason or another- back in November. I was really pleased; I thought the food was delicious, and the character interaction was decent as well. We got some great pictures there! My DH was concerned about the rotation, but we didn't really notice; it was in the background.
