This is my first time here, so I hope I am doing this right.

I have a question about the Garden Grill restaraunt in Epcot. I want to do the ice cream social during our trip in Jan. I have read that The Land may be closed for rehab then. Does anyone know if the Garden Grill will still be open?

I imagine if you call Disney Dining for a ps they will know if it will be opened or not.

Where did you read this information?

I read this on WDWMagic.com on a discussion board. They said that The Land was closing for rehab to get ready for Soarin'.

Maybe it was just a rumor??

This is on all the rumor boards . Screamscape (one of the more reliable rumor boards), recently posted the following:

" (6/18/04) Screamscape has heard a rumor that the entire Land Pavilion may close down briefly after the Christmas Season to perform internal rehabs on the new Soarin’ queue, entry and exit along with some upgrades to the Food Court and Living with the Land que"

If you're going in January, it looks like there is a chance The Land will be closed. However, Disney has not yet anounced a date for this or even admitted it is going to happen, so there is still hope.

Thanks for the info!

Do you think there would be any chance of the Garden Grill remaining open during this rehab? I hope so. I wanted to surprise the DH with a rehitching!

I dont know. The rumor seems to indicate that they cant stay open during that part of the rehab, but it also says it will be brief, so it may not be closed at all while you are there. I wish I knew more. I'll keep an eye on the rumor boards and update here if I see anything more.
