I called WDW Dine yesterday to make a Priority Seating for lunch at the Garden Grill. When I asked to confirm that the lunch price was still $16.95 for adults, the Cast Member informed me that the prices were just increased at lunch to $20.95. Since that's what the dinner price costs, I asked her what the new dinner price is. She informed me that it is the same price for lunch as it is for dinner. I asked her if she was sure about this, since most meals cost more at dinner time, than at lunch time and she confirmed that the prices are the same at lunch and at dinner.

That's terrible!! I've budgeted for all of our meals. That's an extra $12 just for that one meal for us! I wonder if the others have gone up as well. We would already be spending a total of $90 for our family of 5 for this lunch BEFORE the price increase. Add $12 to that and we're over $100!!! Ugh!!!!

UGH! Disney certainly seems to be increasing a lot of prices right now! I'm disappointed to hear that GG has increased for lunch. I know we won't be paying that kind of money for a lunch.

Oh great! :( I was planning on doing GG for lunch. That is out. That is too much money for a family of 6 for lunch. :(

I'd read about that price increase on these boards about a month ago and was disappointed in the increase. We love character lunches vs. dinners or breakfasts. Even with the increase we're keeping our GG PS as we had such a fantastic experience last time. It's an expensive meal for our family of 5. Another option is the ice cream social, but by the time we did a counter service lunch and ICS, we'd save $20 which didn't seem worth it. I hope they don't increase prices at Tony's but I bet we'll see higher lunch prices when Crystal Palace reopens.

Not too long ago they started serving the same meal for lunch that they offer for supper. The lunch now includes a salad. It looks like they are thinking that since you get the same food and the same amount for lunch as at supper then they should charge the same amoutn for both meals.

Remember if you have an AP you can get a discount there at lunch Mon - Fri.

I noticed the increase when we were there at the end of July. I just went AAAAAK! I was toying with the idea of eating there when it was around $15, but no way am I paying $20 per for lunch!

This price increase took place in Oct-Nov 2001 (probably about 2 days after the menu at www.wdwig.com was obtained!) When I called to make a PS for Garden Grill for our Dec 2001 trip, I was told about this change. While disappointing, it makes sense because you get the same preplated meal regardless of when you eat. You can ask for more of anything.

It's an expensive lunch, but really not too bad compared to dinner at many other WDW restaurants. I love it and am planning to go back this year.

erikthewise is correct... we encountered the same situation in Feb. 2002. We were informed when we made our PS. We just counted it as our big meal of the day and did counter service for dinner. We were glad we ate there but probably will not be quick to return when there are so many other places we have not yet been to. My children liked the food and the revolving part!:D
