Garden Grill or Ohana breakfast?

I booked reservations for Garden Grill with the sole purpose of returning for the cinnamon roll skillet. This was previously my favorite sit down meal purely for the cinnamon roll. I am super disappointed to see it's no longer on the menu. The replacement loaf looks dry and bland. I was afraid we'd be disappointed with the meal since we were looking forward to the cinnamon roll so much, so I cancelled it. Neither of us care for watermelon either, and I see that watermelon has replaced the fruit bowl. Also, we're hoping to enjoy F&W offerings, so maybe skipping breakfast on our Epcot day isn't so bad.

I booked Ohana instead on our MK day, but now I'm having some doubts. We've never done Ohana and have always wanted to. We are two adults and enjoy the character meals but don't have favorites, so characters aren't really a deciding factor. I keep hearing how the food at Ohana isn't good, and I'm not sure about the pineapple coconut bread. Not a fan of coconut. Will I regret changing our plans? Or will they let us try the cinnamon sugar donuts if we don't like the bread? Doing both isn't an option this trip. We aren't big eaters and have two other ADRs already. It's a short trip, and we can only manage one TS meal about every other day.

IMO you can’t really taste the coconut in the pineapple bread. I love the bread and I’m not a coconut fan at all. One plus of a super early GG breakfast though is you can hop right in line for Soarin after you eat and before a line develops.

If you need a non character recommendation near MK we love breakfast at Whispering Canyon Cafe at WL.

We want to try Whispering Canyon, but since this is a birthday trip, we’re trying for character meals. The interaction is always extra special with a birthday button.

I would bet Whispering Canyon will make the birthday interaction special too since one of their gimmicks is the wait staff antics.

Excellent! I totally enjoyed Topolino. I did for the first time in August. The character interaction was great

I also did Garden Grill, the cinnamon bread was monkey bread like. I was solo so didn’t really eat much of the bread but Chip and Dale, Pluto and Mickey are all my favorite characters

We just went to Ohanas in June and we ❤️❤️❤️ it!
This was our first time back there since 2006 and it was awesome (DD20 and I went)

In regards to the bread - you can’t taste the coconut and this is coming from someone that hates coconut.

Ohanas is now our must breakfast on the last day of our future trips :stitch:

Thank you. We’re excited to give it a try, excited for the characters for sure. Sounds like the bread will be fine.
