Garden Grill or Coral Reef

I had a great dinner at Coral Reef in March. It was my first time dining there, and I will definitely go back. I don't do any seafood, so I had the steak. I order mine well done, and it was cooked perfectly without being charred on the outside. One thing I will say, I would skip dessert. I feel like the TS restaurants have priced the desserts so high to help make the dining plan attractive, and they are not worth it for anyone paying OOP. That being said, my friends all enjoyed their desserts - the chocolate wave and the key lime thing. I was disappointed in the Turtle cheesecake.

Thank you for the rec. I will have Dining Plan so I will HAVE to try the Chocolate Wave which appeals to me more than the tank of fish. :)

I forgot to add, the server we had was great, and also had no problem with us changing up our side dishes!

We have been to Coral Reef 2x and loved it! I live in New England, 5 houses away from the ocean, and we did not find it disappointing at all. There is plenty of fresh seafood available to me year round and we eat seafood regularly but it was not an issue. Perhaps that is because at home we are used to lobster, cod, clam chowder etc... and at Coral Reef we had mahi mahi, shrimp, snapper etc..
We also loved our desserts!

We are HUGE GG fans. Every time we have gone it has been our favorite meal of the trip (and we eat ALOT! LOL) The food has been delish and there is so much of it! You can get a big bottle of sparkling water instead of drinks with your TS credit which we loved. Since you get Turkey, Fish & Beef there is something for everyone, plus all the sides and the rolls and butter are to die for along with the salad...which is grown right there. They also always bring us a ton of extra desserts along with the cobbler the minute we mention my daughter is a chocolate fan! See the pictures in the link below! LOL

Also you don't have to feel bad about wasting food because they use the leftovers to recycle and make energy for parts of the park which I thought was great. The character interaction there is the best we've had in all of Disney (Ohana's breakfast is a close 2nd for characters). We have eaten at CR twice and it was just okay...not something any of the family has ever asked to go to again.

Here is a link to our GG review with pictures from September (It's the 5th post down) and yes we are going back to GG again in 18 days! LOL

Both have good service and decent food- we like the food at both and had great meals at both in the last year. The character interaction at Garden Grill has always been the best at any of the character meals, and the atmosphere at Coral Reef is different and relaxing (watching the fish, etc.). Either is a good choice.

We have been to GG about 6 times. The only time we were not happy was last fall. The food just wasn't as good as it had been previously. We were all very disappointed. I don't know if it was just an off night or an overall change. But we aren't going back this year.

We have been to Coral Reef 3-4 times. We have really enjoyed it every time. Their dessert The Wave is my favorite on site.
