Right now I have a reservation for each and I was wondering which one is better? Can you tell me which one you liked better and why? Also which characters are at each dinner? I think two might be overkill so I'm wondering which ressie I should drop. Thanks for you opinions.

They are both great for characters, but i LOVE Garden Grill. The food is a lot better than at Chef Mickey's, and the seating is cooler with it rotating and all. Also I have found Garden Grill to be quieter than Chef Mickey's. :)

We prefer Chef Mickeys. For me, the characters are more "classic" and the food is really good. No theme park admission is required, so it gives you flexibility to change plans and choose a different park that day if needed, unless you have park hoppers.

Garden Grill..They have many .. Chipmunks,Goofy,Tiger,MM ect. Great simple food and its endless portions. Food is Normally, Salad,Sliced beef,Turkey and Carfish filets served with potatos and Veg.. The seating area does move(SLOW) during your seating. We have found that to be neat also as you get to see diffrent veiws during your diner. I would say 8 0f 10.

The food garden grill is better. The characters at Chef Mickeys are a favorite for me.

I also prefer Garden Grill because it is so much calmer. We have always sat in one of the booths and they are each a little isolated from everyone else. And having the food brought to us is so much easier (although your kids are older than mine).

That said, on our last trip, we missed our reservation at Garden Grill because we ended up not going to Epcot on that day. And on previous trips, it sometimes has been inconvenient to get there at the right time. I think Chef Mickey's works well for dinner the night we arrive or breakfast the day we leave.

Garden Grill!!

We went to Garden Grill last summer w/ my parents who'd never been to EPCOT. (We went for 1 day during our beach vacation for our "Disney Give a Day - Get a Day".)

The food was really good - lots better than the last time we ate there in 2008. Even my hard-to-please mom liked it!

And the character interaction at Garden Grill is good too!! We loved Pluto! The characters seem less rushed at Garden Grill. (However, there's no Minnie at Garden Grill. :sad1:)

Plus, the restaurant is cool - it "revolves" through The Land ride.

However, w/ that being said, we always do Chef Mickey's for breakfast! Chef Mickey's breakfast is a must-do for me. I like that all the 5 main characters are there. But I handle the craziness of a character breakfast buffet way better than a dinner buffet. The dinner buffet gets less than stellar reviews, &, to me, it's always seemed harder to mess up breakfast than dinner.

If I were only doing one, I would probably go w/ Chef Mickey's (since all 5 characters are there), but I would change it to breakfast.

We like Garden Grills food better and the atmosphere is much calmer. I really think that the character interaction was much better also. The characters came around a few times to the table during our meal on more than one visit. The only downside is that there is only Mickey in Farmer attire, Pluto, Chip and Dale. Chef Mickey's has the Fab 5 but it is a little more rushed I think an I didn't enjoy the dinner food as much.

I think Garden Grill is better than Chef Mickey's. Chef Mickey's has mediocre food at best and the draw really is the characters. Garden Grill has a smaller menu but check it out here and if there is something you know everyone would like I think it is the better choice hands down. The characters are also dressed in unique farmer attire and I don't think there is any other opportunity to get pictures with the characters dressed like they are at GG.

I would never sacrifice food quality for characters, theming, or atmosphere because I think the most important aspect of any restaurant is food. That makes this an easy choice for me.
